Now we know why...and proof it is all about the number of union dues paying members...it has to be at this point.

All the IUAW reps and many Building Chairmen took a summer European tour last summer. they went to Germany, England, France, all expenses paid. But now that our contract is up everyones broke. yea OK $356,000 for golf outings? I'm ashamed to be in this Union sometimes.

What's next? I know there going to ask Obama to bailout the IUAW!! I'm serious as hell about that, they IUAW are so out of touch they might think the country would support such a bailout. I can hear their slogan now it would save thousands of high paying union jobs.

Just let me say all the trips to Florida,Las Vegas and the GREAT European Boondoggle of this summer. Now those trips were important enough to raid a strike fund werent they?

King, who concedes the UAW bears some responsibility for the near-collapse of the American auto industry, quickly doubled down on a bet made by his predecessor, Ron Gettelfinger. In 2006, UAW delegates voted to move about $110 million from the strike fund to pay for organizing. In 2010, King went back for an unprecedented double-dip in the fund and won clearance to spend up to another $160 million over four years. "Just like President Obama took a big risk in betting on us, we're taking a big risk on money from our strike fund," King told Reuters. Does this mean they have blown the whole strike fund? No wonder they are desperate! I only knew of the $25 and $60 million withdraws - but over $160 million!!!!! ? How much is left?? Because of King's own quote, does this mean it went Obama's political campaign for 2012? Time for us to negotiate a pay contract for the IUAW! ;D

I am truly more concerned that the dipping is to cover a presently failing VEBA. With GM stock down(They can't afford to sell for a loss), Chrysler having no IPO that I know of, and Ford completing their obligations - is the strike fund holding up the benefits of the retirees? With rising health care costs and little to no money coming in, one has to ask the question.

American politics, "they" are the people that have taken the unions power. All of the corporate world is against unions, and "they" are very powerful....

IF THEY GAVE UP SAME AS WE DID IN ARE CONTRACT. THE RETIREES WOULDNT HAVE ANY THING TO WORRY ABOUT WHY ARENT THEY UNDER THE SAME CONTRACT AS WE ARE IF IT IS SUCH A GOOD THING YOU KNOW, IF PAY THEIR WAGES THROUGH ARE DUES WHY DONT WE HAVE CONTROL OVER THEIR CONTRACTS AND THEIR PAY. ITS LIKE WE PAY THEM TO SCREW US LIKE THE GOVERNMENT WE WORK A WEEK OUT YEAR JUST TO PAY OUR DUES $700 BUCKS A YEAR WHY DONT RETIREES GET TOGETHER AND TALK TO IUAW ABOUT LETTING THEM VOTE ON THESE CONTRACTS IT DEFINITELY AFFECTS THEM MORE THAN VOTING FOR LOCAL OFFICALS SEE ABOUT CUTTING THERE WAGES TO TAKE CARE OF CUTS THEY MADE TO RETIREES AMYBE THEY COULD ALSO FIX IT WHERE WE COULD VOTE IUAW PRESIDENT OUR DELAGATES FROM LOCAL SURE DONT KNOW WHO TO VOTE FOR

If the local union wont help ( and you're right they wont), then we should start our own petition, greivance whatever it takes, it is outrageous & absolutely immoral that they would get ANY kind of a raise much less a 12% raise, while we get nothing & they have pillaged the strike fund. This is beyond belief!

It is beyond belief...that's why I don't believe it. Do you really think they would give themselves a raise right after we ratify a turd?
