Just wondering what everybody thought. Either about the meeting or what they got out of it.
Personally I thought the Reps were to much on the Defensive. But with already having meetings at other Locals, I guess they came in with their guns loaded.

I'm still trying to figure out that second question/statement that Marty S. asked.

I didn't go to the meeting, so what question did Marty S. ask?

It amazed me how many people asked questions about things that had already been answered.

I went to the meeting leaning toward a no vote. I left with a positive no vote. The IUAW is trying to cram the agreement down the memberships throats. They are so out of touch with the members. They have used scare tactics in order to get this to pass. I think it will pass. A "yes" vote is turning our back on the retirees. These are the people who worked to get the things we have today. They gambled the retirement fund and lost. So the retirees and future retirees will pay the price. Chicago turn it down and then the IUAW started putting out things about not going back to the table. That scabs would replace all of us. It makes me wonder who they work for the membership or Ford Motor Co. The IUAW said they had went just as long as we have with out a raise, but they have received two of them. Brizzel, I was one of the people that ask questions on a topic that had all ready been talked about because they give half answers and I, like most, dont trust them. They are the ones that tried to get us to take the last concession. If the membership would have passed it we would have no leverage at all. We would have to accept what the IUAW gave us. I bet it would and could have been even worse. Remember, those who stand for nothing will fall for anything.

After attending the meeting it was clear to me that the IUAW is only concerned about adding dues paying members. That message was preached the entire time. The IUAW is sinking like the titanic, and we are the deck chairs being rearranged. After hearing several retirees speak their minds, it echoed how hopeless and angry they are for being sold out. I went to the meetings thinking I was going to vote NO. After leaving there's no way in hell I could vote yes!

My father and uncle are UAW retirees, as I'm sure most all of us have some family member who has finished their time and were lucky enough to move on. There's no way I could vote yes for this agreement and look at them in the eye and tell them so. It appears that it may not matter if 862 votes 100% NO, but I can sleep at night knowing I did.
