So as of now at almost 9pm on Sunday night it looks as if this contract is probably gonna pass I went to the Q&A sessions on Saturday at UAW862 and the hot, and I mean HOT, topic was the EOS grievance. After I sat there for awhile I finally got up to the mic to ask my question, "why did we not walk out on strike over the grievance". The answer I was given is that it wasnt a strikeable issue. Only health and safety and a few other things are strikeable. It seems to me this is something that we need to look into changing if possible. So apparently the only path the IUAW could take was to file a grievance. So let me just get to the point. WE are all pissed off that WE didnt get the stuff back that WE voted to give up in the 09 modifications. And as WE know, once WE give it up, WE may never get it back. So what I am getting at is this...WE had better think long and hard the next time they come asking US to help put a billion dollar company in a more competitive position. I have always been told by my dad(UAW-GM retiree) that once it is gone it is gone. I have always voted NO on every contract and on the modification and I will vote NO tomorrow. WE have given enough and it is time for US to make a stand NOW!!!

Yeah, I have seen them. It shouldnt be that shocking unfortunately. I guess if my fearless leaders told me, we are gonna go on strike and be locked out and not get a new product, I might vote YES too....Oh who am I kidding, it would still be a HELL NO!

So if we can only strike over health & safety issues then that just proves Settles did what he did on purpose to scare the membership into voting yes, & it worked.

I agree paralawyer, it seems to be a breach of contract. WE all agreed (company and Union) to GIVE EQUALLY in bad times and GET EQUALLY in good times. It doesnt get much more cut and dry than that. But WE have yet to get anything but a #@&% in the @$$!!!!

Take your signing bonus and buy Ford stock you will get lots of money in return! I figure I gonna get my money one way or another and buying stock at this cheap price is going pay off big down the road!

So take my $6000 signing bonus and subtract roughly 41% taxes=$3540. Lets all 41000 of us buy ford stock. That gives us $145,140,000.00 in ford stock. That is only 1.5x what Ford GAVE our CEO and Chairman (2 PEOPLE!!!) thanks to your YES votes. Alan Mulally and Bill Ford, Jr. thank you for your YES vote!!! Thanks but NO thanks.

After this passes, I would expect Ford stock to get back into the $14 range rather fast. And in the next 4 years with all the 2nd tier workers being added, profits should get fatter.

I expect Ford stock to go up also, but I believe you'll see it rise next spring just before you know who gets to turn in their multi million dollar stock options he and they recieve as part of their salaries.

How many of us wouldn't be UAW/Ford employees today if it wasn't for a retired employee putting in a word or a referral for us? I know I wouldn't. Whether it was your father, mother, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, cousin, grandparent or even just a friend many of us are lucky to be employed because of them. Think about that before you vote today or tomorrow. Can you look that person in the face after voting? I know I will be able to and I'll honestly be able to say I supported them with a straight face and no lie.

I had no pull what so ever, I got shit on my 1st 7 years, every open job went to some who was connected, I was finely able to bid on a good job. But it was a tough road.
But I'm with you we should always look out for retires as we would want the next generation looking out for us.

UNTIL IUAW IS UNDER THE SAME CONTRACT WE WILL NEVER HAVE A GOOD CONTRACT (EQUALITY OF SACRIFICE ) . THEY GAVE THEIR SELF A RAISE AT LAST CONVENTION '''' WE PAY THEIR WAGES .SOMEONE POST A COPY OF THEIR CONTRACT IF THEY CUT THEIR WAGES BY 30% THEY WOULD STILL MAKE MORE THAN WE DO THE PEOPLE AT INTERNATIONAL (REPS) (SEC) NOT KING AND SETTLES TAKE THE MONEY WE SAVE AND GIVE IT TO THE RETIREES MEDICAL AND CHRISTMAS IF IT WASNT FOR THEM WE WOULDNT HAVE A JOB WEVE GIVEN UP EVERTHING THEY WORKED SO HARD TO GET BECAUSE WE HAVE NO "B...."

I can definately say "I GOT BALLS" because I voted NO! Welcome jc, fatnat, beenaround, dtptolap, I am glad to see some more newbies on here, like myself, who arent afraid to say they have the balls to vote NO for our retirees. I am 12yrs away from being a retiree and I'm scared to death all these chickenshits are gonna vote and vote and vote my pension right down the drain. And I do agree with Scott that F stock is gonna go up and we are gonna make some money on it...probably a few dollars, while the fat cats are gonna make some money on it too...probably millions of dollars. I just wanted to put that out there to THINK about. And dtptolap, I just want to say I am not trying to attack you personally. If you have felt that because of where my post is, I am sorry. I am just trying to get EVERYONE to THINK.

I'm taking my $5000 clear money and going down to see my parents in Broward County...and while I'm there, I'm gonna purchase $15,000 worth of pain pills and bring them back and turn that into $75,000. So if you like pills, don't spend your signing bonus money until I return. Return will be much better than F stock.

JC, I dont recall working with anyone named AMOS MOSES but it's been 7yrs that I have been here at KTP. Then go back 11 more years at INDY and ....dang I forgot what I was going to say:-) I very well may have and just forgot. Ask whoever told you the legend of AMOS MOSES if he worked in the LAMB machining area. And NO we didnt do crazy things with lamb in INDY! There were a lot of great old timers there.

It sickened me to watch the news yesterday and see my own coworkers make statements about how with this being bad economic times this is a good contract. How could you say such a thing and then agree to allow them to take away money from a retiree that is and has been on a fixed income for years now? Some of them that can't even go out and get a supplemental job to cover their loss because of their age or even physical disabilities. These people deserve your respect and REMEMBER YOU ARE A FUTURE RETIREE!

Because many are living beyond their means and were forced to accept any contract presented to them. They can't consider retiree's needs when their family is going broke at rapid speed. People had four years to prepare to fight...and instead they continue to bend over and take it from their own union now.

@scottr@KTP, you have hit the nail on the head brother! The old Grasshopper and the Ant story comes to mind. I like to be prepared so I can make my decisions based on my true beliefs in what is right and wrong and not on my pocketbook. Whether you vote yes or no is your decision but I hope it is for the right reasons and not because you can't literally afford to vote no.
