Yes. I don't know if they are in effect yet but I would guess yes.

According to Page 84C of the contract, you do not receive your Family Days until January 1, 2012. You may get the day off, but I am guessing you will not get paid for it.

It was agreed that eligible employees shall receive up to two Family Days during the term of this agreement as follows: Employees with seniority or who attain seniority on or before December 31, 20~11 shall receive two (2) Family Days on January 1, 20~12. Employees who attain seniority on or after January 1, 20~12 through December 31, 20~13 shall receive two (2) Family Days on the first day of the month following the date they attain seniority. Employees who attain seniority on or after January 1, 20~14 through the expiration date of the agreement shall receive one (1) Family Day on the first day of the month following the date they attain seniority. Employees returning to the hourly rolls, will be entitled to Family Days as outlined above. Eligible employees will request a Family Day at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance, and supervisors are encouraged to release employees provided there will be no adverse impact on the operations. Eligible employees will be paid up to eight (8) hours' pay for each Family Day taken. That's what I was told as well...but use them before the open the contract and take them back.

Just sayin, I was approved and I am on the calander for a Family Day for Nov. 4. Was told by Local 551 that Family Days were available on Monday, October 24, 2011, when this contract took effect.

If I were you, I would either have a committeperson check on it for you or go up front and have them pull the info up from your global id...if your supervisor can't get the family day to post-he will either use a vacation or excused absense day instead...just trying to give you a heads up.

I don't think that Family day will payout....but if you have personal or vacation they will take that and then you get the day back in jan...either way enjoy the time off.
