I'm hoping somebody can tell me the answer to this one. I'm on medical and was told I didn't qualify for the sign on bonus...(in case you wonder....it's because of a chronic disability). I wasn't really happy to learn that I was allowed to vote but wasn't going to reap anything out of it but this is Ford and I'm used to this. My bitch is you want to call it that is that I received a pay stub in the mail on Fri. Nov 4th from Ford Motor Co. saying I had in fact been paid the bonus. I checked the bank...my account was debited the amount and then it was deposited so in fact nothing was really there. It is showing on my stub as INCOME which I DID NOT RECEIVE!!! How can they count it as income when they are the ones who say I didn't qualify in the first place. When I file my taxes it will look as though I made 6000.00 more then I actually did. I''m not sure but I think this is fraud and further more for them to be able to TAKE anything out of my checking account is theft...their name is NO WHERE on my account!!! Any suggestions?

Could be a bank error. I would also check with your bank.

Yea, that is jacked up... 6 grand more in income will totally screw you, especially if Ford didn't pay your taxes on it. With everyone else, that extra 1,500 that went to federal will make its way partially back on your income tax.

not sure about your issue on if you do or don't qualify for the signing bonus? but what I do know that signing up for direct deposit you gave up a right. If they can put money in they(company) can also remove funds if they screw up. Don't believe me ask you bank or credit union they will tell you that this is true! Good Luck, but JoePieper is right check with your bank or credit union first.

I checked with the bank and it is true when you sign up for direct deposit they can deposit and withdraw whenever they see fit. Now the question is how can they add the 6,000 as an income when I didn't actually get it??

Keep a copy of your bank statement. If it is indeed on your W2 then you can request an amended W2 with the 6K removed.
