The main benefit that was taken away was the ETAP funds which totaled $1,500.00 (which has now been returned). Ford knows that only 5% of the plant populace ever used these monies so I would project that if any benefit was returned to the employees it would be in the form of an increase in ETAP money. This would allow Ford to "make up" to those who lost this benefit for a short time and it would only have to be paid to those who actually use the program as opposed to employees who never use the ETAP and are looking for a check.

Ford Motor Company announced it would be reinstating several benefits to the salaried workforce. These benefits included tuition assistance, merit raises, and a 401k matching contribution...............thats more than just ETAP funds

Read the part where it stated they tried to settle it during the labor contract talks. What, Settles and King both said they wouldn't do that. What a fu&kin joke. They lied and continue to lie, why do we even pay union dues for when we can't get a decent person to represent us?
I am not leaving so I guess I gotta put up with this shit for now. Hopefully more people in this planrt can see what is going on and we can decertify this fu#king union once and for all. Then we will be on par with those transplants, hell isn't that what the union want's anyways?

***** Update on the Equality of Sacrifice Arbitration Hearing *****
Both sides met on Thursday and Friday as scheduled for more than eight hours each day. The arbitrator heard testimony from various members of the International UAW including from Ford management.
Despite the allotted time given for the hearing, there remain several key witnesses yet to testify. As such, the hearing will resume next Friday, November 25, the day after Thanksgiving.
You may have read reports from the media that Union was unsuccessful in resolving the grievance during negotiations. This is categorically incorrect. We have maintained all along that the grievance was not part of contract negotiations, and it would be settled separately through the arbitration process. Moreover, at no point during negotiations did either side raise the issue of the grievance.
As we mentioned in a previous post, we are confident in the case we have presented to the arbitrator and we fully believe the company was in violation of the Equality of Sacrifice language when they discriminately chose to restore bonuses to salaried employees.
As always, we will keep you updated throughout the process.

A hearing will continue into next month on the United Auto Workers’s complaint that Ford Motor Co. salaried employees didn’t sacrifice equally with hourly employees to help the company survive, the union said today. An independent arbitrator will take testimony from additional witnesses in December after hearing three days of testimony this month, the UAW Ford Department said in a posting on its Facebook page. More than 35,000 Ford workers, who gave up pay increases and bonuses, signed the grievance last year after the company reinstated raises, tuition assistance and 401(k) matches for white-collar employees. “The depth and gravity of questioning and testimony, particularly from our witnesses has taken longer than anticipated,” the union said in its post. “We are confident that we have presented a strong case to the arbitrator regarding the lack of equality concerning Ford Motor Company (F)’s reinstatement of bonuses to the executives and salary employees only.” The arbitrator has not scheduled a date for the next hearing, the union said. The arbitrator “should make his ruling within 90 days” of the conclusion of the hearing, the post said. Michele Martin, a UAW spokeswoman, and Marcey Evans, a Ford spokeswoman, declined to comment. Ford’s 40,600 hourly U.S. workers voted 63 percent in favor of a new four-year contract with Ford in October. Ford pledged 12,000 new jobs, $6.2 billion in factory upgrades, and bonus and profit-sharing payments this year that total as much as $10,000 per worker. The accord did not include raises for senior workers or restore cost-of-living pay increases hourly employees gave up to help Ford survive after it lost $30.1 billion from 2006 through 2008.
