Monday Memo, It looks like Humana insurance is going up AGAIN. Co-pays will be $30 for o/v and $45 for specialists. BCBS is still $20 for o/v and $20 for specialists. Humana still has the $150each/$300family deductible and also 10% up to $500each/$1000family. BCBS has NO deductible !!!

BCBS doesn't pay for services that Humana does.

That 10% co-insurance on certain services, does that mean you owe 10% of the bill?

Yes!! After you have met your deductible, you then have to pay 10% of everything else and the company pays 90%. With the exception of office visits where you have co-pays which were raised as well.
To think that at contract time, union officials said that our health care wasn't touched. Amazing isn't it.

Wow, paying extra for services that suck. Are we talking about union dues or co-pays?

What the Hell happend to the high lights,it said no changes to heathcare!! 1000 bucks is a very large change.Did we vote on that? We should have been told this at contract time pure BS.
Sounds like I have a 1300 dollar deductible not 300

Right out of the highlights!!!!
In the area oðI health care benefts, when it seems like everyone in America is getting cuts inbenefts and paying higher co-pays and deductibles, we were able to maintain and improve on ourcurrent benefts.

Our deductible just more than tripled, plus if I understand it right we still have to pay 10% after that, what a slap in the face after we got 0 in the contract & salary just got raises.

Wow... Does Kentucky vote on the right to work law anytime soon? I hope not cause our union would be in big trouble right about now. We made gains in insurance during contract what highlights says. Pure BUllshit horseshit and any other shit you want to pile on it.

Amazing how in Michigan our healthcare was much better than offered here. You would think it would be the same. I paid only co-pays everything else covered.

If you have a family plan, your total out of pocket is $1000. This includes your deducible. Thats the way I understand from the handouts that I read tonight.

Humana thinks they are the only game in town. They will have to learn the hard way. You can switch to BCBS on the website- www.myfordbenefits.com. You should compare the plans on the same site. I hope everyone switches to BCBS.

As soon as they came out with the bcbs info I told my wife that Ill bet anything Hunmana raises their rates. In my opinion Im guessing FORD had a role in this.I bet they get some kind of kickback for any new member they can FORCE over to bcbs.Hell you have to switch.Thats how the world of corporate greed works. You help me fuck the lil guy and Ill give you some dirty money for it.This is just my opinion though.I bet if you could contact the right person at Humana they would tell you FORD contacted them on a cheaper plan for its employees. And these new deductibles and co pays are the result.I would bet on it!!!!!!!

Ok if you go to uaw862.org it gives the details, its not a $500/$1000 deductible, the deductible is still $150/$300 but after that you pay 10% until you reach $500/$1000, if you go over that you pay nothing. I still think it stinks but it isnt quite as bad as I thought.

Not if understand it right & thats always a question :-) But from $300 to $1000 is $700, 10% of that is $70. So in reality it goes from $300 to $370 out of pocket on the family deductible & from $150 to &185 per individual using the same math 10% etc. So really the co-pays to me are a bigger deal than the deductibles. Please someone correct me if I'm not reading it right.

The biggest differences in the 2 are BCBS does not pay for allergy shots or testing orchiropracters.Ppain mgt services it will pay under the right circumstances but they really make you jump through the hoops. Any maintenance drugs ie high blood pressure, heart etc has to be mail order.

I hope ur right on the $370... But I take it as, first $300 urs.. Then everything after that u pay 10% up to $1000( so $700 more). So if u go to doctor and bill is $500 you pay $30 plus $50(10%). You have to get blood work $1000 .. 10% more is $100.. So now u still owe $700-$150=$550 more if u go to doctor again.

You may be right is does say out of pocket maximum rather than 10% of the maximum. Jim Fisher will know. I am strongly considering changing to BCBS either way. No deductible & $20 co-pays regular or specialist .

It is $150 each/$300 family and then you get to pay another 10% of every bill until you reach $500 each/$1000 family. You will be paying ALL YEAR and when you finally reach the maximum, it will be a new year and it starts over again. Switch in January and it goes into effect March 1st.

On the bulletin Johnny and Adam put out it says out of pocket 417/834 with a deductible of 150/300. Shouldn't it be 350/700 or 650/1300 ? Confused now 417/834?

Amazing how in Michigan our healthcare was much better than offered here. You would think it would be the same. I paid only co-pays everything else covered. I've had BCBS since I arrived in Ky back in Mi I had HAP. BCBS is good, no complaints, no referrals to deal with, everybody accepts it and now 20 co pay on office visits its great. The mail order thing for prescriptions is only for maintenance drugs, you can get a script from doc filled 3 times, 4 time it becomes maintenance drug and goes to medco. Doc can fax script to medco and 90 day supply is cheaper for individual.. 90 day or 30 day co-pay on script is same

I hope everyone switches to BCBS. Looked at Humana when I arrived in KY they had that gal at gate 6 answering questions...Compared humana and BCBS I thought BC was better.... Plus BCBS is good anywhere if you got a kid in college, or u like to travel they accept BC everywhere not true of Humana and Humana won't reimburse for out of network cost... I like to go to Florida my bc works down there as well

One of the most basic themes in ethics is fairness, stated this way by Artistotle: "Equals should be treated equally and unequals unequally." Favoritism, cronyism, and nepotism all interfere with fairness because they give undue advantage to someone who does not necessarily merit this treatment. In the public sphere, favoritism, cronyism, and nepotism also undermine the common good. When someone is granted a position because of connections rather than because he or she has the best credentials and experience, the service that person renders to the public may be inferior.
