Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I just want to remind the membership that the Bargaining Committee, Skilled Trade's Chairman
and I will be available at the Union hall tomorrow from 8 am to 6 pm to answer any questions regarding
the tentative local agreement. I encourage everyone to take the time to come by and talk to us if you have
any questions.
I would like to answer two of the most asked questions regarding the tentative agreement that we
have been asked.
#1 If I sign up for the One Time Transfer Opportunity to the Louisville Assembly Plant do I
lose all of my seniority and start over when I transfer?
Answer: NO. The letter allows a maximum of 150 transfers. Those employees who
choose to transfer will keep their seniority up to the Leveling date of October 29, 1984.
Any transferred employee will have no Return to Basic Unit Rights to his/her plant of
origin. Transferred employees will retain contractual rights in the event of a layoff.
#2 Why didn’t we get the 10:1 team member ratio under the new team leader language?
Answer: The National Language left the decision up to the local parties to work out the
details. The company's stance was that they wanted to make the team leader position a
bid job instead of elected by team members if the plant went to the new 10:1 ration. We
also wanted the 10:1 ratio, but our stance was that the team leader would stay an elected
position by the team and not bid. Neither side was willing to budge on their stance so
therefore we will continue to operate with the current 14:1 ratio and have elected team
leaders.
UAW/FORD at the Kentucky Truck Plant is one of the sponsor's of the St. Patrick's Parade this
year; also known as the people's parade. The parade will start at the corner of Baxter and Broadway and
head south on Baxter to Bardstown Rd. It will be held on Saturday March 10th at 3:00pm. Anyone who
would like to march in the parade this year representing KTP should contact Edith Flowers at 812-225-
6064, eflowers1018@insightbb.com or Kevin Powers at 502-429-2341 kpowers3@ford.com for details.
I would like to ask everyone to keep Richard Bowyer in your thoughts and prayers. He is an
electrician in the body shop at KTP. He has made the choice to become a living donor and give part of his
liver to save the life of an 11 year old boy. His gesture will have him hospitalized and off work for 6-8
weeks. You can follow his story at www.dilynsjourney.weebly.com Please keep in your thoughts and we
look forward to having him having a speedy recovery.

Scott Eskridge
