After reading the highlight booklet, along with reading some of the letter's of understandings and reading and hearing what our Building Chair and BC have wrote and said, I believe I will vote no on this contract.
Now don't get me wrong, I am not being bitter about it but instead I truly believe that there is more to what is in it than meets the eye. We all know too well how we are told one thing and after voting it in, we find out it is not the same one we voted on. Better yet, some of the elected union rep's tell us something different maybe, just maybe because they do not just want to do the work of our contract. These contracts are a good thing to have but when the membership just does not believe in the union no more what good is the paper it is written on. This is just my thought on the subject, so let your conscious be your guide.

I like how "b" got before shift and first break to vote. Way to go election committee. I know, we knew about for two weeks plan ahead. It just seems as though we got the shaft again. Most of the new hires had no idea about or where to vote.

I honestly had not seen one handout about the times to vote...I'm shocked it's over. Have we always been given so little time to vote on the local. My short term, as well as my long term memory are pretty pathetic. I started back on 11-7 last week and I missed the voting window. Oh well, I'm sure my vote would not have mattered. The sheep will pass anything...

Guess my vote didn't matter after all...but hopefully I will be notified of the voting days and times next time.

In the past scott it was always done off site like at the fairgrounds. And it was a six hour window.

K, thanks for the info. Why not have voting from Sunday night thru Tuesday evening? Giving b crew before the shift and first break seems like a cluster fuck to me. That pretty much discourages voting.

In the past scott it was always done off site like at the fairgrounds. And it was a six hour window. I don't think that is totally true Kess. I can remember several ties going to the local hall to vote on our local contract. I can also remember going to various places to vote on our national contract too. This is the first contract both local and national to be voted in the plant. I do agree with ScottR, we need more time to vote. I will vote regardless of the place or time's that are given but there are some that just can't remember that type of info. Only because it comes up every three years or so.

Guess my vote didn't matter after all...but hopefully I will be notified of the voting days and times next time. No one in paint was notified either...was it just the midnight people left out? Not one person I talked with last even KNEW the election had happened...pretty sad...
