Just a few minutes ago a body shop team leader said to me. "I am going to a team leader meeting and they want to know of reason why the local contract did not pass" Really do they need to ask. Management just got raises and their matching 401k again. What did we get? Oh yeah we now pay more for insurance. So that equates to " we gave back again so they can have theirs" I didn't vote "yes" for the national agreement and I won't for the local. Why they ask? I will not vote on or for anything until the grievance is settled and they explain to me why I have to watch the people the we make look good on a daily basis get raises. NOBODY. Not one person from our union has been out here to ask me What the problem with the agreement is. While I agree with most of you the grievance is on the bottom of Black Lake. Just tell us. IUAW needs to quit playing games and stand up for us. I new we were in trouble when our IUAW President said in July of 2011 that his biggest issue was the wages of the entry level employee. Really?? 2003 Bob, I believe was the last raise we have had. I think gas was $1.70 something now look at it. After 22 yrs I have seen a lot of things but never the things I see now. My father was a union steward for the company he retired from for the last 20 yrs he was there. He is appalled at what he has witnessed. One last question, Who actually was running the team leader meeting wanting to know why the contract was voted down? Don't know, just curious.
