They can open up 1044 more spots at LAP, but KTP has no shot at any of them...job well done Mr. Bldg Chairman...NOT!

You just got to love the way the KTP union leadership listen's to us don't you. They have moved away from the "They can do that" speech, now they say "We listened to the membership". I wonder who it is that they listen to, the voices in their heads.

VOTED NO last time will do again. Last summer i signed up for transfer to Lap in labor relations. They had quite a few sign up. Then did"nt here anything, went to union meeting and was told by bargaining member it was a mistake asking base KTPers. Steve Stone said 1200 people from 21 different plants transfered in. We are in same local but no benefits with KTP. They say reason taking out of local contract this time is about throwing seniority out of whack at both plants. My opinion is that it will cost company money to train people at both plants, control of ktp workers (they dont want any movement), etc......Who cares if my seniority sucks at LAP i want the fucking chance. It would help with morale at KTP letting people move around and move out. Work in Chassis day shift, only people they asked about contract changes was team leaders. Did'nt ask us piece of shit line workers at all. They can take my sqencher and uniforms and shove it up fords Ass and instead let us have a chance to transfer to Lap.

I was told Scott talked to day shift people and they don't want another 150 LAP people coming in with high seniority and taking jobs and bumping are people around .... i wish he would have asked night shift what we wanted but we do know how to vote no ,getting good at that.

There is nobody left that wants to come here that hasn't had a million chances already. I seriously doubt we have any takers from another plant. Maybe a parts plant, but they come with day one seniority.

why is everyone worried about someone coming in here with a little senority It really doesnt mean anything at KTP so why worry about another 150 people Unless the union bids out team leaders which they are not then nothing to worry about.

It could mean 300 new hires if they allowed 300 with seniority to transfer. I'm sure the bottom 300 at KTP would love 300 under them?

Why hire people at low wages and benefits? Let's keep the higher paid people...if we don't it's just playing right into what Ford wants, less worker costs.

Could'nt agree more Scott. With all the other tranfers thats already came in why is it such a BIG ISSUE NOW. I don't care if my seniority sucks at LAP I at least like the chance to go. They already surveyed last summer and quite a few signed up so they know people are interested.

OMG... People here worry about the dumbist stuff... WE don't want transfers they may bump me off my job....the sky is falling the sky is falling. But come layoff time everyone wants to support seniority, except those trying to give a little rub under the table to stay working. In stead of putting up fences trying to keep working, try supporting seniority rules, with seniority you should have options.... Options to transfer to (in zone) LAP, (out of Zone) what ever plant has openings GEEZ quit trying to protect that little patch of grass you have now... Seniority rules....
Sorry I see the transfer thing, as someone new coming in and trying to take my job...as long as seniority options apply to everyone its all good everyone has the same chance

Seniority is great when you have it...and bad when you don't. It's understandable that ones with it don't care in regards to transfers....others without care alot. In my 23 years I have had seniority work against me and for me...and you can guess what my thoughts were in regards in each situation.
Bottom line is all we have left in this place is seniority...period!

If I recall correctly LAP had members go work at Chicago to keep a paycheck coming while people with Less seniority worked at KTP! So KTP should have no right to come to LAP!

I believe the reason the transfer thing occurred was that the local 862 strenghten our local by transferring in current employees who'll pay $56.00 each month for union dues instead of having new hire pay only $30.00 a month.

If I recall correctly LAP had members go work at Chicago to keep a paycheck coming while people with Less seniority worked at KTP! So KTP should have no right to come to LAP! The highest ranking authority in any UAW local is the membership... If you want transfer rights to KTP or vise versa tell your leaders to negotiate it. In most transfer situations the accepting plant has to have openings, unless you have contract language that says for the purpose of seniority rights LAP & KTP are view as one plant. People went to chicago following the product didn't they, again contract language

No they went to keep a paycheck, they returned home once LAP reopened.
