I don't see it happening. When the system is nearly full and nobody is in Final to pull from it on Sat and Sun, we would be backed up and not run.

With all the variables that is around us, I do not see that happening. Let's face it, about a third of the time body and paint can't keep up now. What will happen when there is a break down and no one is in the plant to try to fill up the stacker and pre trim area? It does look good on paper though. I just wonder if our Building Chair and BC has the ability to understand this but I doubt it. They haven't listened to us in years why start now.

Stamping may do it when LAP starts their C crew...but I don't see anyone else doing it.

I heard there is talk of c- crew but it would be like the last change, it would consist of 3 - 12's Friday, Sunday night and Monday night. It might work if they are running 5 - 10's in the big house.Last time we tried it we would work Friday and part of Sunday then Monday night, almost like being in happy land:) I guess time will tell.( short Sunday night when the stacker filled up and we got sww for that)

Lots of talk about it... Management thinks they can do it with no overtime... 40 hours is 40 hours, still won't be able to keep up. They won't even bring c-crew in 2 hours early on sundays with a empty stacker and pretrim. All they have to do is make sure it's full at the beginning of the week, each week.

4 hour early start for paint this week, if they go to the 4- 10's and 3 - 12's they can work 10.7 each day so with that in mind I guess they can squeeze out a few extra each week. Heard that they would have to hire in the 550 range to staff the whole plant to go to 3 crews off chassis.

Anyone from the Union have any info on any talks of this happening and if so when it may happen? The 3 ,12's like we use to do in Body is sounding really good right about now. I would think maintenence would like it if the shop had a little downtime in between shifts.

3-12's will never happen IMO. They would have a 4 hour production loss over what they have now. We was only on 3-12's for a month last time. Didn't work. Maybe 4-10.7's. Just my guess I am no one important. If they want 20,000 more trucks we have to run longer.

stacker will be expanded from 400 units to 700 units...when that happens the body and paint departments will go back to 4 ten hour shifts and skilled trades will go to the aws work schedule...all will happen, if it happens...next july shutdown.

Exactly which Stacker are you speaking of? The Super Duty Stacker is in the middle of the building, surrounded by U-Trim, Body, and the box line, it supports the roof of the building there also. I dont see any way to expand it. Maybe they could build a new one outside, between Paint and Final. Now the Nav/Expo Lane Bank, it isn't exactly a Stacker per say, has had plans for a second level to be added to it since it was built.
