Anything gained in new contract will be paid for by ellimination of workers. Plans already under way for eliminating C crew and redistributing personnel to cover two shifts and maintain same productions.

Please tell how they are going to keep up production without overtime with the new numbers they put out before we left for break? And if they are going to do a RIF, they have to give a 60/90 days notice (I forgot which it is right now) to the state/feds before they even do it.

I dont believe that about c crew. Heard that for 3 years. Not like we can do anything about it. What ever happens will happen.

Or is this a "He said, She said" rumor that has been running through the plant like the Lincoln is leaving in a few months? Just curious because as we speak there is over $2 Million worth of equipment being installed right now at LAP. During shut down there has been semi loads of new equipment coming in for both Escape and MKc. The rumor I'm hearing once again is another new vehicle will be added to LAP by 2016. Gotta love the doom-sayers rumors though. Makes me LOL at times.

They aren't getting rid of c-crew they are hiring right now and they want more escapes than we can build now. we are already relieving in some areas and adding more areas soon and possibly handing out referrals when we come back after shut down. We are not losing c-crew

I don't believe c crew is going anywhere. It exists because it's low cost, that's 1500 employees at tier two wages and benefits. As far as production, we used to build more than we do now with only two shifts.

Curious to where they would put all the stock for another vehicle.

Curious to where they would put all the stock for another vehicle. ihatemyjob, this is just another rumor but I have been told that ford intends to go to a forkless system for delivering stock to the lineside. They plan to have stock loaded up on carts at a offsite warehouse and then loaded on trucks and then unloaded at plant and pulled to line similar to the way that linefeeders of small parts are currently delivered. I have no idea if this is true, and if it is, whether it will work.

MH superintendent told me the same thing. a lot of fork jobs will disappear when that happens. I don't know if or when either or if it will work, supposedly is working other places, we'll just have to wait & see. Pretty sure he told me sometime in 2015, just more good bid jobs that will go away.

That's the first I'd heard of this here. I had heard it was going that route at OHAP with the low volume 650/750, but I just have a hard time seeing it work here with the production volume and the low part counts of some of these containers. Might find a couple spots for a process like that, but I just don't see it plant wide, but that's just me...

I have also heard that there are elements in management that wants to make the jobs at offsite warehouse Ford jobs. Due to the constant problems that we have with Ceva the current provider of preloaded parts. To me, this would make sense, if you have temps making $10.00 per hour with absolutely no future they are not really going to care about the quality of their work. I realize that Ford will not likely take the long term view of paying for quality workers.

They are all uaw Ford jobs manned by the material handling department. And it runs much smoother than what we have with ceva.
