CONTRACT BOOKS: The UAW Local 862 Local Agreement contract books are being
printed now. We expect they will be in the plant for distribution in the next
two weeks.
UNIFORM ALLOWANCE: Final details are being ironed out so that we can implement
the $300/employee uniform voucher. Look for more information about the rollout
in the next Weekly Update.
STATUS OF ENTRY LEVEL EMPLOYEES AT FORD: We recently converted 39 LTS
employees to Entry Level. Employees can access a listing of Entry Level status
by plant as well as lots of other information related to Entry Level numbers and
employees by visiting uawford.org/entrylevel/ and choosing the
appropriate link for what you are looking for. Keep in mind that these numbers
are for reference only, and are accurate only as of the date given.
APPRENTICESHIP WAITLIST: We anticipate adding apprentices in the near
future. The only way to be added to any plant’s waitlist is through periodic
testing in-plant; the LAP waitlist currently has 30 names, so there is no
testing planned in the near future for us. For members who transferred to LAP
from another location and were ALREADY ON THE ACTIVE WAITLIST AT THEIR PREVIOUS
PLANT before transferring to LAP; if you haven’t already done so, please
contact Mike Parker at 502-364-3727 or mparke22@ford.com to make sure your name
has been transferred to the LAP waitlist. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to make sure
your name is transferred. Members who contact Mike must be verified in the
company’s national waitlist database, so make sure to get in touch with him as
soon as possible.
PLANT RECOGNITION: On Monday August 25th, The Louisville Assembly Plant hosted
many prominent visitors as our new Lincoln logo was also unveiled on the front
of the administration building. This extensive media event was covered by both
local and national media. Speakers included LAP Plant Manager Daryl Sykes,
Kentucky Lieutenant Governor Jerry Abramson, Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer, Ford
Director of Manufacturing and former LAP Plant Manager John Savona, UAW Vice
President Jimmy Settles, LAP’s UAW Building Chairman Barry Ford, and UAW
Region 8 Director Ray Curry. They were joined by several other dignitaries
from the Company, the UAW and local government officials who sat in attendance.
BATHROOM AT G-47: The bathroom at the west end of the building is under
construction now and should be open within the next few weeks.
UPCOMING SUB COUNCIL MEETINGS: Local leadership will attend Sub Council 2 and 3
meetings in the near future, and will be electing our national negotiators.
Please talk to your district committeeperson for more details on how to submit a
proposal if you have an idea for an improvement or would like to submit a
contract proposal for national negotiations.
