ORDER BANK:
2014 Escape: 2,353 10 days supply
2015 Escape: 28,115 26 days supply
2015 MKC: 1,272 16 days supply
PRODUCTION OVERTIME: In an effort to give as much notice as possible, as of
this writing our tentative mandatory overtime scheduled in September is still
B-Crew on Saturday 9/13, then A-Crew on Sunday 9/21 and again on Sunday 9/28.
Remember that these dates are tentative, and you will be notified by the Company
concerning that day’s actual production.
SMOKING IN THE RESTROOMS: The Company has notified us that it’s a violation of
both city law and plant rules to smoke inside the building, including in the
restrooms; on Ford property this also includes E-cigarettes. We have been
informed that restrooms and other areas will now be randomly monitored for
compliance with smoking laws and plant rules. If you’re a smoker, please
protect yourself from possible penalties and only smoke outside the building in
the designated smoking areas.
AMERICAN HEART WALK: UAW & Ford Motor Company will be sponsoring the Survivor
Trolley at the 2014 American Heart Walk on Saturday September 20th. If you are
interested in being on the UAW/Ford Team, you may purchase your walk T-Shirt for
$15 ($20 for Long Sleeve) in the Main Cafeteria on the following dates and
time:
Wed Sept 17th & Thu Sept 18th: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., and 9:00 – 9:30
p.m.
UAW LOCAL 862 ANNUAL UNION PICNIC AT THE GREAT LAWN: This year’s event will be
Sunday, September 21st from 11am-5pm on the Great Lawn next to Joe’s Crab
Shack. All Local 862 members, retirees, surviving spouses, and their immediate
household members are invited. Please have your Ford ID or Union Card available
for admission ticket and a chance to win prizes throughout the day. There will
be food, inflatables, rides, games, prizes, and much more. Food will be served
from 12pm-3pm. Please view the flyer which contains much more information (i.e.
parking info, directions) on www.uaw862.org
U OF L SEASON TICKETS: The winner of the March for Babies raffle of the U of L
season tickets is Joe Glass on night shift (tug driver, material handling).
Thanks to all who purchased tickets!
BASS TOURNAMENT: The Local 862 Recreation Committee is hosting a Bass Tournament
at Nolin Lake Wax Marina Sunday, October 12, 2014. Entry fee is $60 per boat and
the deadline is October 3. For more information and an entry form visit either
Local 862 Union Hall or www.uaw862.org
ANOTHER DISCOUNT FOR COMEDY: If you missed the comedy show in August, don’t
worry--UAW members and retirees of LAP and KTP can again get a special discount
to another night of comedy and laughter at the Laughing Derby (formerly the
Comedy Caravan). The next show will be held this Sunday September 14th and again
include comics that have appeared on national TV networks including HBO, Show
Time, BET, and Comedy Central. The event will be hosted by the outrageous comedy
of "Darryl Damn" from BET's comic view and most recently, Tyler Perry's "The
Haves and the Have Nots". Plans are to hold a new show each month! Doors
open at 7:00pm and the show starts at 8:00pm. The cost of the tickets are
normally $15 in advance or $20 at the door, but advance sale tickets can be
purchased by LAP and KTP employees for a discount rate of 2 for $25 (DISCOUNT
DOES NOT APPLY ON DATE OF SHOW). For more info or to purchase tickets call

HELP MENTOR A STUDENT: UAW Local 862 has once again committed to partner with
JCPS in their annual middle school youth, “Make the Connection” program in
October. We once again need your assistance to help send a positive message to
the youth in our community. The actual meeting with the students is in
October, but the deadline to have all participants and their choices turned in
is set for Monday, September 15, 2014. Both active members as well as UAW Local
862 Retirees are welcome to participate. New volunteers will need to fill out
the basic records check form before participating. If you would like to
participate or have any questions, don’t hesitate to call UAW Local 862
President Todd Dunn (502-241-9491) or Suellen Warner at the Fern Valley Road
union hall (502-969-9136). Thanks so much for your help.
FRIENDS OF BILL W MEETING: Each Wednesday beginning on Wed Oct 1st there will be
a “Friends of Bill W Big Book” meeting held at 4:30pm in the conference room
of union office located at F-19. If you are interested please contact Craig
Waldridge, ESSP Rep on B-crew at 364-3687 (or just show up).
