WEEKLY UPDATE December 5, 2014
ORDER BANK:
2015 Escape: 25,051 23 days supply
2015 MKC: 3,831 20 days supply
PRODUCTION OVERTIME: As of this writing, we have three Supers tentatively
scheduled. A-Crew is scheduled for 10 hours this Sunday 12/7 with a 6am start.
Then B-crew is scheduled for 10 hours on both Saturday 12/13 and Saturday
12/20, each one with a 6pm start. There are no other dates planned at this
time, and remember that overtime dates are tentative until you have been
notified by the Company about that day’s actual production.
CHRISTMAS DOWNTIME: Production will go down after B-Crew works Tuesday evening
12/23/14, and will not resume until A-Crew and C-Crew return at their respective
start times on Monday 1/5/15. Enjoy your UAW-negotiated holidays and be safe!
LUNCH BREAK BEFORE HOLIDAY: Production for each crew will stop for a one hour
lunch break at 12 o’clock on their last day of production. Enjoy the
extended break and share the holiday spirit with one another!
STATUS OF THE UNIFORM ALLOWANCE: The 1.5 million dollar purchase order has
been signed at the corporate level and our Plant Controller has been authorized
to disburse the funds. We expect the program to be rolled out into the plant
in the next few weeks, hopefully before the Christmas shutdown. Watch for
details on how the program works and instructions for your selection process and
shipping.
NEED HELP WITH ADOPT-A-CHILD!: Our annual Adopt-A-Child dinner will be held
this year on Friday 12/19 at 5pm. If you can make it, please stop in and share
some food and a great feeling of making a difference in the community. And if
you can possibly help, please contact Ralph Napier at 502-364-3674 to
volunteer. If you haven’t attended or been a part of it before, it will
change your life—to see the happiness on the face of a child who would
otherwise have no Christmas is truly indescribable. Thanks for all of your
contributions and participation throughout the year, it takes a lot to do what
we do for the community!
HELP LIFT THE SPIRITS OF OUR TROOPS AWAY FROM HOME AT HOLIDAY TIME: This past
weekend the UAW & Ford sponsored “Letters to our Troops” in the Santa
Workshop as a part of Light Up Louisville. To continue it, we have brought the
“Letters to our Troops” mailbox to our plant and are asking our employees to
take 5 minutes to write a quick note to those serving our country. The mailbox
is located in our main cafeteria and cards are provided, but you can also
provide your own and make it more personal! All cards will be mailed to our
troops in Afghanistan next week. If you have any family members, friends our
groups that may be interested in writing letters, please encourage them to
participate. All cards/letters must be turned in no later than Sunday December
7th.
WEIGHT WATCHERS MEETING ANNOUNCED: The 1st meeting for Weight Watchers will be
at 5:15pm on 12/15/14. It will be in the union office conference room at E-18
and the $25.00 fee is due at this meeting. For more information you can
contact Kevin Bush 502 364 3659 (A)crew, or Jeff Hale 502 364 3687 (C)crew, or
Craig Waldridge 502 364 3687 (B)crew.
WAGE WORKS HRA CARDS FOR ENTRY LEVEL EMPLOYEES: To all Entry Level employees
with Wage Works HRA cards: remember that any balance currently remaining on your
card must be used by December 31, 2014. Your balance will be reset on January 1,
2015 and any unused balance from 2014 will not carry over (you do however have
until March 31, 2015 to submit claims for any services obtained in 2014).
PLEASE USE THE PEDESTRIAN WALKWAYS IF YOU WALK THROUGH PREDELIVERY AND THE
SHOP: East of the end of the main line, vehicles are constantly moving and
being driven to and through rolls and various repair or check stations.
Because there is so much production vehicle traffic, pedestrians are discouraged
from walking through these areas unless your job requires you to be there.
Safety vests are required in almost all areas of the shop and pre-delivery
areas. If you’re just “passing through” on your way to your work area,
please stay in the pedestrian walkways and yes you are still required to wear a
safety vest—it’s a “red zone”. If you are an employee who is working
in these areas, please keep an eye out for vehicles in everything you do. And
drivers, please watch for pedestrians in all areas and drive safe!
ANOTHER DISCOUNT FOR COMEDY: UAW members at LAP and KTP can again get a
special discount to a night of comedy and laughter at the Laughing Derby
(formerly the Comedy Caravan). Once again the show will include comics that have
appeared on national TV networks including HBO, Show Time, BET, and Comedy
Central. The event will be headlined by the outrageous comedy of Maurice G, who
comes to us from St. Louis and has performed at various comedy clubs throughout
the Midwest. This month’s show will be held Sunday December 14th and monthly
thereafter. Doors open at 7:00pm and the show starts at 8:00pm. The cost of
the tickets are normally $15 in advance or $20 at the door, but advance sale
tickets can be purchased by LAP and KTP employees for a discount rate of 2 for
$25 (DISCOUNT DOES NOT APPLY ON DATE OF SHOW). For more info or to purchase
tickets call (317) 250-6487 or visit www.laughingderby.com
Autotruck Financial Credit Union will be available in the Main Café on
12/11/14 and 12/12/14 from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM and 2:30 PM-6:00 PM each day.
Autotruck FCU offers financial services to all FORD employees/families. They
will be available to answer questions, add services and introduce you
to various financial opportunities. Anyone signing up for a new service will be
eligible to win a $25.00 Gift Card.
