LAP Retiree Glenn Paul Larson passed away 2/20/15.
Larson, Glenn Paul, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015. He retired from
LAP in September of 1984.He celebrated his 90th birthday on January 25 with
family and friends. His warm heart and great smile has touched many lives
through the years. He will be missed greatly.Glenn was born January 25, 1925 in
Louisville to the late Henry and Florence Larson. He joined the Marine Corps in
1943 at age 17. He was in the 6th Marine Division in the Asiatic Pacific
Campaign. He was wounded in action on Enewetak in February, 1944, and was
awarded the Purple Heart. He was discharged February 4, 1945. When he returned
to Louisville, he worked for Ford Motor Company for 27 years. After retirement
he was an avid and talented woodworker, a hunter and a fisherman. He was a
member of the Disabled American Veterans and a lifelong enthusiastic supporter
of the Marine Corps. He was a member of the Catholic Faith. Glenn was preceded
in death by his wife, Stella, and siblings, Lowell Larson, Patricia Ciolek and
Doris Zieglar. He leaves his children, Glenn D. Larson, Regina Markin and
Marilyn Larson, grandchildren, Kelly Hood, Trent Larson, Lisa Jewell, Tami
Moran, Thomas Roger, and Stephanie Sturgeon, his nephews, Woody Robinson and
Lowell Larson, brother-in-law, Raymond Zieglar, 12 great- grandchildren and
three great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Friday,
February 27, 2015 at 2 pm in Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown
Road with private entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be
Thursday from 2-7 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please donate to
