Membership Strike Duties and Assistance Brothers and Sisters, There is a "Picket Duty Roster" being circulated by your Union Representatives in order for you to volunteer for picket duty. These initial members will be utilized to begin the process in the event that a strike becomes necessary. If you do not sign up on the gate picket duty form, you are still required to participate in a strike activity assigned by the local union. Strike Participation shall include (But is not limited to): Serving on the Community Services Committee Assignments, Picket Line Duty, Strike Informational Classes, Strike Kitchen Duty, Soliciting Committee, or any other approved activities established by UAW Local 862. Weekly strike participation is a requirement, which qualifies all members in good standing, for strike benefits assistance. In the event a strike is authorized, the membership will be notified through further communication on the specifics of the Strike Assistance Program in regards to local 862. The official form of notification will come from Local 862 Leadership through our local union website WWW.UAW862.ORG
