I am a tier two, but I am also your brother. My questions is this. If the rumors are true that chrysler is wanting to bump the 2nd tiers to roughly $25 an hour after 8 yrs. If ford motor company takes the same approach and gives the legacy employees a much deserved raise would you take it even though that would keep us 2nd tiers from ever being able to reach your level or would you vote no and fight for me? I have and am willing to put my time in to get that level. I won't lie and say that I'm not looking out for me but I have said in the past and still will till we get a fair contact. I want to get to tier 1 but not at the expense of the legacy employees. I will fight with you for you and along side of you, I just hope you will do the sme for me. Let's stand strong and fight show the company and iuaw that we still have the power and will use it if we don't get treated fair.

U have some smart asses on this board, this board doesn't really reflect most people in the plant. It's contract time and maybe 12 people posting on here or so. I'm legacy, '99 hire and everyone I talk to says two tier must go!!!! There must be at least a path to top pay. Just in case you didn't know, when I hired in, it took 6 months or so to get insurance ( someone correct me on that) 3 years to get top pay and 10 years to get in the JSP. Tier two people will probably not get the pension tho so be sure and maximize your savings plan from day one!

Was what I was wanting to hear. I think the international is disconnected from the tank and file. I will say it is god to know that the guys and gals on the floor still know we have to fight for each other. Thanks for your support. I will say it again even if they bump us up to tier one pay and benefits it elk be a resounding no vote from me unless they take care of the legacy as well. Let's stand strong and flex our muscle to get a fair contact.

As a two tier worker, I am willing to sacrifice some the next four year to see the legacy workers get the money they have lost the last 8+ years. Yall deserve it.
In turn, we must make more money to continue the quality of worker that Ford has built over the years. If you pay more and reward quality workers they (not all, I know) will show up and work their tail off.

I hope everyone understands that FCA plans on retiring out the legacy wage and replacing it with a single tier wage that tops out at $25. Not to mention the co-op and the exportation of most FCA car production to Mexico. What happens when gas spikes again and sells of trucks and suv's drop? Major layoffs and Mexico producing all the fuel efficiate vehicles. This is terrible deal that has been made and we haven't even heard the stuff they are keeping really quiet. Just hope we all understand this!

They work right beside us doing the same jobs. Fair days work for a fair days pay is the union mantra. It's time to start living up to it

The same union that was founded and thrived on core principles. One of which is equal work for equal pay! Even while in orientation we were told that legacy hates this system and come 2015 we are gonna fight hard to do away with it. Legacy deserves more than what FCA is offering and so does entry level. If ford offers anything close to this WE need to stand together and fight!

you can bullshit and preach the union crap all you want in the end you work for ford not the union and as most all of us have seen they dont give a dam about us nor does the union do before you take a job here look at what is offered at the time you take it cause no more than that is guaranteed

I will but I will also fight for me. I've been at ford for nearly 22 years and it took me 3 years to get to full pay. It's been ten years since we had a raise. That's 13 out of 22 years under paid. I'm very sorry that this thing has happened and I hate the tier 2 thing but let's quit fighting each other the way they want us to and put the blame where it belongs on ford motor and the UAW. You need to know the workers on the line didn't just come up with the ideal "let's pay the new-hires less".

Well that all may be true but doesn't mean you don't stand up for the man or woman next to you,for the people before you and stand up for the future employees! This FCA deal is wrong for everyone! So if we get offered the same we are going to have to fight.

Dont get me wrong it wouldn't surprise me, but really even the news stories are from "unofficial" sources at this point. Im not going to lose any sleep until I see something official in black & white that pertains to Ford.

Thanks, I guess I read that differently, by top out I was thinking for this contract & if they are retiring the legacy wage I wouldn't think they would be giving 3% raises in 2 of the 4 years. You could be right, I could be interpreting wrong, either way it is a terrible deal "IF" accurate. Health care open ended alone is a no vote. 2 3% raises doesn't even scratch the surface of what we have lost the last 10. And by not closing the gap completely or at least establishing a path to do so between tiers, we still have inequity & friction among the workforce. Huge NO from me.

No I'm going by what Sergio has said all summer that he wants one pay scale and he wants it to be between tier 1 current pay and tier 2 current pay. That part of my post is my opinion.we will have to wait for all the details. But if you also look at recent comments they(dennis or Sergio) don't say "a path to tier 1". It seems to me Sergio got what he wanted.
