LAP BI-WEEKLY UPDATE November 16th, 2018
ORDER BANK:
2019 ESCAPE: 50,989 UNITS 40 Day Supply
2019 MKC: 8,187 UNITS 49 Day Supply
VETERAN APPRECIATION: The UAW would like to say thank you to all the Veterans
for your service and sacrifices. We are forever grateful.
CONTRACT PROPOSALS 2019: Contract Proposals for the 2019 National Contract and
the 2019 Local Agreement can be picked up in the Union Office or ask your
Committeeperson. Deadline for National Contract is Dec 23rd at 12pm in the Union
Office and Dec 21st at 3pm at the Union Hall. No deadline has been set for the
Local Contract proposals.
BIKES OR BUST 11/15-11/18: We are taking bike donations for all new bikes. Our
goal is to donate 2000 bikes. Please bring all bikes to the Union Hall during
hall working hours. We are 800 short of our goal.
UNITED WAY 11/15: The United Way campaign has begun! Currently we have 39% of
our workforce contributing. If you recall last year our plant was very
successful in this campaign. We won the plant competition with the greatest
percentage increase in participation in the 2017 campaign! If everyone raises
their contribution .25 cents we will win it again. You will also be able to
choose from over 100 organizations (not just United Way). Reps will be around in
the upcoming weeks.
THANKSGIVING BREAKS TENTATIVE) This is a qualifying holiday, 10hr schedule
on these days. The UAW is still in discussions about exactly how much break Ford
will give. The UAW has agreed to move 10mins from the second break to the
extended holiday break.

CHRISTMAS SHUTDOWN: Christmas shutdown will be from Dec 24 thru Jan 1. Last day
worked for each crew is as follows:
A-Crew 12/20 10hrs B-Crew 12 /21
10hrs C-Crew 12/23 (6am start) 10hrs
TPT’s: The next few weeks are shortened work weeks because of holidays, if you
would like to work three days (vs 1 or 2 depending on your scheduled days) it is
optional. Speak to your Process Coach on what days you need to work in order to
count the week and make sure he/she understands what days you’re coming in.
PATHWAY TO SKILLED TRADES APPRENTICESHIP: Transcript submissions for employees
completing all three IRCP classes in 2018 will be held in the Main Cafeteria on
the following days and times: January 7th-11th, January 14th-18th from 4pm to
6pm daily. Employees must request transcripts from their providers for
submission and classes completed by December 31st, 2018. Please visit our

selections will be made at the transcript submission meeting. For any additional

C-CREW SURVEY: A survey will go out in December for the 2019 calendar year for
early Sunday starts.
SOLE-A-DARITY SHOE DRIVE: We are accepting new and gently used footwear/shoes
at both UAW Local 862 Union Hall locations. The shoes will benefit children and
homeless veterans. Refurbishing of shoes will be provided by Shoe Life
Alterations at 821 E. Broadway (502) 442-9719. Sponsored by the UAW Local 862
Young Workers Committee. Contact info is Lorenzo Dale (KTP), 502-593-6806 and
Jasmine Williams (LAP), 502-419-2139.
RUMORS NOT FOUND TO BE TRUE:
No current down weeks are in the schedule from now till shutdown
Nothing has been given to the UAW or Plant about cutting out C-Crew
Adopt-a-Child
ADOPT-A-CHILD 12/14: Adopt-A-Child is just around the corner, we are asking each
team leader to collect $20 from everyone on their team or whatever they can
afford. The party is on December 14th at LAP Union Hall from 5pm-7pm. Everyone
is invited to attend. Volunteers needed from 3pm-9pm. Contact Ralph Napier at
812-987-7611 for details.
SHOPPERS NEEDED: If you would like to be a shopper for the Adopt-a-Child program
please contact Ralph Napier at 812-987-7611
ADOPT-A-CHILD RAFFLE: We are having a 30-day Give-A-Way to raise money for the
Adopt-A-Child program. Tickets are $20. Only 300 tickets will be sold. Daily
$100 winners will be drawn between 11/1-11/30. See Brittany Jobbitt or Ralph
Napier for details.
