A job was eliminated on my team. Half was added to my existing job, the other half added to another. I am lowest seniority on the team. Who gets numbed out?

From what I’ve read in contract.It states when jobs are combined the operation with the most workload gets the job,not seniority.But when they add it to 2 jobs I don’t know.Id say the lowest gets axed .if they reduce the size of team then it’s lowest senior person

If you are the lowest seniority on the team and they are removing one from the drot you will be the one to go to available work unless someone on the team volunteers to go.

Local Contract page 21. The MODS or OIS sheet determines who gets the most work keeps the job, if its equal or no time study exists most senior person does. If they Local Contract page 13 Reduction on a team will be least senior person reduce out and will go to available work.

I would say that the dumbass who takes on the most work should have to keep the job forever. Maybe that way the suck asses wouldn’t be able to overload a job and then cut a deal with management to get a better one now that they helped them load up one job up and cut out a union brother.

Just because they want to cut jobs and ask you to take on more work doesn’t mean you have to. It’s called fighting work. If you don’t stand up to management they will bring you more work every year.

I don’t know that these new guys even think about the future.At least when I started in 95 we had the 93s to SORTA help us along,Hell most of them were already sick of this shit.But they were damn happy they had a whole group under them on seniority.We never took work on a job lightly,and I still won’t.Cant speak for the team I’m on now but .?

But then again, what I've seen from the union timestudy people the last few years...… I honestly believe they're working for the process engineers sometimes They don’t work for the process guys but they do go to lunch together......sorta reminds you of politicians, argue and scream at each other in front of the cameras....then go golf together and do lunch. Can someone name one person who has been fired for not holding a job? You can’t roll over, have to come in with your game face on when this stuff starts, they will borderline harass you for months....how stubborn will you be, or will you just give in? Stay safe people.

Exactly^^^^.We did 005 wire loom job in excursion,4 of us rotating on it.We NEVER held the job.They threatened us to the point the UAW said we were on our own?TRUE.But we stuck together and was harassed for a year or more.I left for body and we still was hammering the stop button.Key is get people to rotate.Strength in numbers.Does suck coming to work for that period of time tho.

I’m with you , I don’t just take added work without fighting it, these 5 year and less people think if they say do it then they just do it even if it makes job overloaded... Crazy shit These people might as well let management kick the shit out of them once a week no different than running an overloaded job
