Seems everyone has gone home as of 10:30 this morning. well, except for a few on CAL and some in rolls and some staying behind for housekeeping. No one is saying why but rumors have started about cracks in the new engines...accelerator pedals...lack of air for left hand tires...and the usual assorted malfunctions

Kudos to Ford for doing the right thing by shutting us down until this problem is fixed instead of shipping junk. I was told more than once today that these trucks would absolutely not be built or shipped until this was resolved. FINALLY!

If this was 6 months ago...we'd have shipped and taken care of the problems "post production". Anyone else think the Congressional hearings today (and tomorrow) have any bearing on the decision not to send these trucks out until they are "perfect"? It'd be nice to believe that "QUALITY (not quantity) is Job 1" again.

I was talking to my team leader this yesterday. he said that we were building 1200 units and they had to be perfect before they were released for shipping! I heard last night that they were not put trucks in repair area unless they had room for them. we only built about 80 truck off of frame 1.

we built 61 units off of chassis 1 last night.
I got a text today that said the parts wouldn't be in until 9:30 tonight. But who knows, the problem could be fixed by the time we get in there....it usually is.

I heard the accelerator is a speed calibration issue, the truck is going too fast for the pedal position. The diesel engines are having an issue with the Federal Gov. emission ratings. If it runs out of Urea the truck will begin to pollute and gas mileage will suffer. The truck only warns you if you are low on Urea. A software fix is in the works to only allow the truck to be driven a certain number of miles after running out of Urea.

eskridge told me it was an issue with the non adjustable gas pedals, the concern was the durability and was found up north with all the trials going on....said good ones were to be in around 2:30....
