Hello, I would like to bring your attention on a new post published on the
UAWLAP.org Site.
Details of the post follow.

Weekly Update June 24, 2010
Order Bank: Explorer 4,722, Mountaineer 312, Sport Trac 586, Total 5,620
Hot Weather: Please make sure you replenishing your fluids throughout the day
and eat lots of fruits. Be careful at work and home, look out for your fellow
brothers and sisters. If you notice any unusual behavior please let your
Supervisor know immediately. The in-plant Emergency number is 711, or call
medical 364-3629.
Zero / 100: Ford has come up with a new program they wish to introduce for the
future launch of our new product. Zero/100. Zero defects and 100% throughput.
Your Union and the UAW International have not agreed to any of the changes thus
far and are not actively participating in the program. There are several
discussions ongoing that need to be resolved before we move forward.
Employee Tuition Assistance Program: This is only available for employees.
Please verify your college is approved and classes are accredited. Call the
National Program Center, 1-800-367-3829 ext. 7011, Kelly Hines. Currently there
is nothing available for our dependents. The CDL and Heavy Equipment courses
have not been approved.
Last Built Explorer Raffle: Tickets are now on sale. If you hurry up and buy
tickets before July 1st, your name will be in a drawing for an additional 5
tickets. If you buy 5 or more tickets, you name will go into a drawing for 20
additional tickets. Please see Ralph Napier at F-19 or call 3674. Tickets are a
piece or 5 for 0. Ralph Napier will be in the Cafeteria during lunch.
Holiday Conversion or Pay: Anyone that wishes to receive holiday pay for July
4th, must sign the form in Labor Relations by 12pm, noon, July 1. If you wish to
have the holiday rolled into a personal day, then you do not have to do
anything, it will be automatically converted to 10 hours personal.
ILO Unemployment Monies: We have had several calls about UI money running out.
If you have been told that your UI money is all gone, please call Jan Stieff
3642 and let her verify with the state that everything is correct.
ILO Chicago: We currently have over 70 LAP transfers at Chicago Assembly. We
have about 44 still left to go throughout July and August. We have received
good praise from our transfers about Chicago and the treatment of our fellow
union brothers and sisters. The transfer is hard enough without having to deal
with issues at work too. Thanks Chicago Assembly.
Gatorade: Delivery of water, ice and Gatorade has been going rough so far. We
do have an issue with cases of Gatorade and extra bottles missing from the
floor. Management has brought to our attention that they will open lockers and
search for missing Gatorade next week. Please do not take more than you need and
share.
Day Off Slips: Please make sure you are filling out your Day-Off slips for
Vacation and Personal time. We need the slips filled out for your proof and our
argument about the 8% Contractual Agreement. Please see your Supervisor.
Tax Status: If anyone wants to change their Federal tax deduction status for
Unemployment Benefits, may do so before we go down to make sure it all gets
processed. Some people will be laid off almost 9 months, and if you are not
having taxes taken out of your UI check then you could be paying Uncle Sam at
the end of the year. You just need to go to Labor Relations and fill out a
Federal tax change status form. This can only be done once a year.
Dependent Coverage: "The Benefits Office is still waiting for a determination
from National Ford regarding the eligibility of dependents from the Health Care
Reform Bill.“ Several members have raised questions about Obama’s dependent
coverage up until the age 26. We are waiting on clarification of the language
and guidelines for the plan. As soon as we hear, we will notify everyone.
Kings Island Tickets: Union Days at Kings Island are coming up. July 2
through July 16. Tickets are dollars each and parking is only dollars. A 50%
savings from general admission and parking. Tickets will be sold until June 30,
see Ralph Napier or call 3674. They will also be available at the union hall.
Rumor Facts: Update – We are currently out of SYNC chips and parking units
around the plant. Tentatively we have Fridays starting on Sept. 3 and 2
Saturdays stock protected. Current LAP Explorer last day is still Nov. 23. Sport
Trac will be balancing out at the end of October. Everything is subject to
CHANGE.
