PLANT DOWNWEEK AND UNEMPLOYMENT FILING PROCEDURES
Labor Relations Bulletin
FORD LOUISVILLE ASSEMBLY PLANT
July 15, 2010
--------IMPORTANT: BI-WEEKLY CLAIM--------
PLANT DOWNWEEK AND UNEMPLOYMENT FILING PROCEDURES
July 26th – August 6th
Return to work Monday, August 16th
The Louisville Assembly Plant will be down the weeks of July 26th – August 6th
due to an unplanned transmission shortage from a supplier in Europe. Employees
scheduled to work during the downtime will be notified by their supervisor.
These two weeks are in addition to the vacation shutdown scheduled for
8/9/2010.
This unplanned shutdown will impact our previously scheduled 'job last' date of
11/24/2010. Tentatively, production will be extended until mid December.
This projection is based on the most current production schedule.
UNEMPLOYMENT CALL-IN DATES:
Layoff weeks beginning Monday, July 26th – August 6th (bi-weekly claim)
Call in date: Sunday, August 8th through Friday,
August 13th
REMINDER: Unemployment letters may not be received before the call in date
(Sunday). Please call in even if a letter is not received.
Unemployment Filing
UI should notify you via US Mail at your Ford Motor Company address of record
indicating whether you qualify for unemployment benefits. The notice will also
include instructions on how to call in to complete the unemployment filing
process. Failure to complete the state call in process may affect your
eligibility for SUB claims. Please call-in after your layoff weeks to
1-866-291-2926. It is recommended that you make your call early during the
call-in period.
The UI website is www.kewes.ky.gov. When using the website please follow the
prompts for "Request Benefit Check". Do not file a claim. Ford Motor Company
has already opened your claim; therefore the only necessary action is to claim
your weekly check.
If the call-in number (1-866-291-2926) does not accept your claim during the
call-in dates, please try the website. If that fails, please contact Jan
Stieff in Labor Relations at 502-364-3642 or email jstieff@ford.com.
For employees reporting outside income, please copy your Unemployment check and
submit it to Jan Stieff in Labor Relations for subpay processing. Subpay will
not automatically post when you report additional income.
