I wonder if Yarmuth cares where our diesel engines are made for the Super Duty?

Scott, he probably would if Ford took taxpayers money to stay in business. Since Ford avoided using federal money, he probably doesn't see any problem with Fords decisions what they do with their money. That letter sent to G.M. is also a vote getting letter. He wants his constituents to see he's looking out for their tax dollars and how it's being used. With so many people in his area he represents who drive foreign cars, he doesn't want them voting him out. I agree, that letter needs to written to G.M. and I'm glad to see a rep. ripping big companies asses about moving production out of our country. Especially those who were saved by U.S. tax money. Maybe all Representatives should lobby and send letters to all companies who have moved production out of the country to move it back into the states. give them tax breaks , incentives, anything to keep good paying jobs here. And those who continue to move jobs out, tax the heck out their goods coming back in.

I see your point, but it sickens me to see the billions Ford has invested in Mexico while we have given back so much. The Fiesta is a hot little car, but made in Mexico. Our Fusion...great car...but made in Mexico. Our new and improved FORD diesel engine in the Supers...made in Mexico...sickening.

That would probably be a fight for the International union to take up and try to get jobs back into the U.S. I also don't like Mexico and Canada getting some of the newer better selling models. But on the other hand, this might be Ford's way of keeping fewer Mexicans from crossing the border.

As Union Auto workers we care strongly about where our vehicles are made, but the vast majority of Americans could care less, it's all about the price of the vehicle. Americans have been buying goods from over seas for decades now, every type of product imagined. With the population continuing to rise, the cost will always be the deciding factor for most people.
