Stone Governor Beshear Orders Flags to Half-staff on Aug. 30 FRANKFORT, Ky. (Aug. 27, 2010) – Gov. Steve Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff on Monday, Aug. 30, 2010 in honor of a Fort Campbell soldier who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. According to the Department of Defense, Pvt. Charles M. High IV, 21, of Albuquerque, N.M. died Aug.17 in Kunar province, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device caused a military vehicle roll-over. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky. Burial services for Pvt. High will be held on Aug. 30 at 1 p.m. Mountain time at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, N.M.. Gov. Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset that day. Gov.
