Can anyone answer this question. We here at Chicago are also having a mandatory Friday but are scheduled 10.7 hours. Can they work us longer than 10 hours on a mandatory Friday?

It depends on the local contract you are working under. I would write down a request for a copy of the local contract, as well as letters of understanding regarding CAP. Hand it to your committeeman. If you haven't received a copy within a week. Go to the next union meeting, and wait in line to speak to the building chairman, and ask for copies from him, they're should be copies within the union hall, stand there and wait for it. Read the books.

They work us 10.7 all the time at KCAP. They say that we are on a Alternative work schedule and they can do that. Or we have to make up production. BLAH BLAH BLAH. When i was in St Louis they couldnt work us over 10 during the week and 8 on saturdays. only ask you to volunteer. Now look at it. The Union has to get a handle on this. It is just amazing that if we needed all this production the company says we do, then why arent we working 10+everyday instead of them cutting us loose in 9.5 or less? Makes you wonder. Have a good day all!
