So now what, we have to open up our own claim now?? Sounds like there will be some missed up claims being filed.

Yes I wondered the same thing, weekly handout said to make any address changes at the UI office as Labor relations will not be handling any of it during TLO, that we would have to take care of it ourselves. Could Steve or someone who knows clear this up? Is this only speaking of address changes or will we have to go to UI office to file? What if there is a problem, who do we see?

Wow this doesn't look good for you guys I thought form day one that it would be ILO and this might be the way the company can maneuver it form TLO to ILO.
This would give the Union the cover to use their phony outrage statements like " they lied to us" we didn't know it would happen like this" and my favorite: "where writing a letter to Bob King"

I recently ask the Co to have exit meetings with all employees before the TLO period. And UI bulletins will be put out before the retooling plus posted on uawlap.org. I will forward them to this site as always. Also, Labor Relations will be open during the retooling period. If something changes, we will notify everyone.

Hey guys, I couldn't tell you when but we were told this a long time ago, probably when the retooling plan came up.

I'm just saying the company will probably classify it's workers as ILO instead of TLO. But will know soon enough.

Steve. What is the company going to have meetings with us about? You said you were going to put out bulletins before the retooling, how about clearing up the bulletin that has already been put out, that's the one that has people asking questions. You obviously already have some information or that bulletin would not have been put out, please share with us whatever we need to know. Finally what good is it to us if labor relations is open, if they wont be handling anything to do with UI? If we aren't given the proper information until the last minute before we go out this will be a mess & you know it. Give us the info plenty ahead of time so those with questions can get everything clear before it starts. And please don't trust the company to give us the info we need, remember, this is the same company that "promised" we would not lose a shift. If anyone should be explaining the details to us it should be the union. This vagueness will only breed rumors & suspicion.

OMG you guys crack me up!!! Have any of you ever been to a union meeting? Other than Steve Stone of course!

What exactly is cracking you up? Simple questions posed to Steve & he avoids answering them with his post. I really wasn't too concerned until he answered the way he did, & he could still clear it up if he would. Everyone doesn't have time to go to all the meetings, working 10 hours & Fridays kind of cuts into my time. If all we needed was union meetings then why waste the reps time with walking around every week?

Steve Stone has said before that you will be laid-off as TLO. But I see a big red flag with labor being open while your laid-off and them making you do your own unemployment.
Now if the company lays off Lap as ILO you will almost be out of sub weeks when the company is ready to call back, they would have allot of leverage to get more concession form Lap if your sub pay is out and are ask to vote for more give backs. Hum

According to the State, if an employee is off more than 30 days, the employee must file their own claim. The co. has appealed to file the initial claim for each employee electronically.
Everyone will be able to signup on computer, phone or in person.

Haven't we been filing our own claims already? You still have not answered the question as to whether we will have to go into the UI office to file or can we file via the net or phone as in the past?

When we were TLO at KTP for 7 weeks in 2008/2009 I did not have to file anything myself. Company did the initial electronically and I had no problems getting paid. So where Steve did you get that info from? Now if things have changed Im sorry for sounding like an asshole.

WTF?! I've been laid off since June 2009. I call in myself for my unemployment & I have to file & open my own claims. Human Resources doesn't help with shit!

HR files the claim but YOU have to call in to file your bi weekly claim for your check. All HR does is tell UI that you are laid off and they are approving your claim so you dont have to go to the UI office and do it. After all the layoffs at both plants Im surprised that people either don't know this or just don't get it. If you have a problem getting your check call Labor first as they can usually fix it within 24 hours. I have had to do it before and had no problems.

I know a few guys who worked on LAP 2nd shift they got laid-off last year and they (FORD) files their unemployment for them and still does it. That is total BS!! I filed my own when I got layed off last year! Quit making shit up. Everyone I know that went ILO with me filed their own from day one. There is nothing quite like sitting in the UI office for over 4 hours to get your UI benefits reset after they expire. Two weeks after I went on ILO I had to do just that. But I'm sure the people you know had the UI workers come to their house to do theirs.

OK now I may be mistaken. I missed the part about ILO vs TLO. My experience has only been with TLO so I may be wrong. Best bet is call Labor and ask them. Now if I came off as an asshole I do apologize.

JoePieper, you don't sound like an asshole! lol You are just talking from your experience. Before we were put on ILO, HR did help us out by filing our claims. But now, we are the red-headed step-children (no offense to you redheads out there), they could care less about us.

Personally I feel they should make ALL of you TLO so you dont lose SUB. And make all the ones on ILO TLO as well. Hope everyone is back to work as soon as possible.
