Stone Governor Beshear Orders Flags to Half-staff on Oct. 14 FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 13, 2010) – Gov. Steve Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010 in honor of a Fort Campbell soldier who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. According to the Department of Defense, 1st Lt. Todd W. Weaver, 26, of Hampton, Va., died Sept. 9 in Kandahar, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky. Funeral services for 1st Lt. Weaver will be held on Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. Eastern time at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. Gov. Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset that day. Gov.
