Over on the ktp board there is a thread saying that Steve Stone said we will not get new product announcement until we open the local contract & pass a new one. This information was passed out as a handout @ KTP. Why in the world is KTP getting info about our plant & we can't even get a straight answer about filing UI? If this is true, I say we already have a contract, I'm through with modifications.

If Ford says there will be no announcement or retool until a modified local is passed, guess who will win that one? Ford will continue to milk this cow until they have everything they want from LAP, and even then there's no guarantee they'll honor their commitment.

You got that right, they'll milk that cow for the last drop

everytime they open it, we get screwed. and lets not begin to talk about all the times the company has lied to us before. facts are, we have a product commitment due to our concessions previously. we WILL NOT agree to further concessions for the same damn carrott.

I am sick and tired of the fear mongering Ford has used to coerce their own employees. Their tactics are loathsome and unfortunately effective, but yes, if we do have a guaranteed product from the last agreement, this is a no-brainer.
VOTE NO....if there is even a vote.
The world only needs one KTP and it's bad enough.

So, if Ford will not announce a new product or re-tool LAP until some kind of contract modification, what kind of concessions will Ford want? I wonder if one of them will be if you have 10 years or less, you will have to take a pay cut down to $15/hr and a different health plan. I think I remember LAP out-sourced many jobs, but the quality work was bad.

Sounds like the same BS we have been having at KCAP. They tell us nothing but continue to dangle a carrot infront of us. I am sure before it is all said and done they will be playing KCAP against LAP. I can see in the very near future Ford wanting to open our contract inorder to keep the Escape in KC and visa versa. Get ready boys and girls....the games are about to begin.

OK, Steve Stone finally responded yesterday, here is the post uawlap.org/building-chairpersons-report/chairperson-update-10172010.phpHowever, it says that after 12 weeks we will have to seek employment, he offered no explanation or clarification, just what the state of Ky is saying. I spoke with a high ranking local union official today & he said that he was not even aware that Steve had put this out. He said they are still working on it to try & get this changed, he also said that he didn't think we would have to actually look for work ? But then another rep said something completely different to someone else. If they are indeed still working on it then why couldn't Steve had said this in this report? He mentioned nothing of trying to get it worked out in the 2 posts he replied with on this site. So, who do we believe & what is the actual story? If the other part of what he posted in this report is accurate as far as opening the contract, why did this info not get shared with the rest of us until yesterday, we had to hear it from KTP which evidently was inaccurate. I like Steve & I voted for him, But I feel he dropped the ball on this one, this is our money when we are laid off that we're dealing with, its pretty important to all of us to understand how its going to work, even the ones of us who aren't able to make it to all of the union meetings.

ok, so first he says that the contract will NOT be opened but then says it might need to be opened , but then only to change a few changes made. Hmmm, sounds like some doubletalk to me. Didn't Stone support the last round of concessions? Yeah, you bet LAP won't be opening the contract.... Guess KTP doesn't sound so bad afterall now does it guys?

From the notes on 10/12/10 it clearly states that the local contract will need to be opened.

Ford started this practice, in 1983 Ford spun off it's steel div., Ford Rouge Steel became Rouge Steel and Rouge Steel was for sale. In 1989 Ford sold the steel div to Worthington Ind. Part of the sale agreement negotiated with the UAW was people with Ford seniority had the option to flow back to Ford, all new hires would be paid approx 70% of what Ford employees made. Worthington Ind later sold Rouge Steel Ind. to Severstal Steel of Russia.....My personal opinion is, this is what started the two tier wage system
