Why would it take concessions for a new product when they have already started tearing out old buildings and posted bids for the night shift? We gave our concessions in the first COA in order to save our plant so please don't feel obligated to give again.

as bad as I hate to say it...........I'd bet almost anything that next years contact (national and local) will be held over LAP's head, before anything final is said........I'd also bet that that the MOA will be included and agreed to before a final product is guaranteed to come in.......this is what scared me 2 years ago .....I sure hope it doesn't come to this.....but seeing how they hold the golden carrot and we're left begging......just seems to be what is in store for us......lets all hope that I'm wrong............

How did you know that I was a sister? Have I told too many blonde jokes? Must be a blonde. You are listed as a female under your gender.

It has already been said that Ford will not announce the product for LAP until they get a Local agreement ratified in 2011. You can plan on getting the short end of the stick in the next contract. Ford will be dictating what they want with a take it or leave it attitude. Thats my opinion

Ford has spent millions of dollars in plants before and when they didn't get what they wanted. They shut'em down. Ford spending money or tearing out old buildingd holds no weight or guarantee in a new product. Supposingly we were guaranteed a new product in the last contract now No official announcement till we ratify a local in 2011 . . . hmmmm

True but that was in an good economy... do you honestly think stock holders would welcome that with higher stock prices?? And lets face it that is the bottom line..... Making stock holders and investers happy. Supposingly we were guaranteed a new product in the last contract now No official announcement till we ratify a local in 2011 . . . hmmmm OK so you've made this comment twice where you getting your Info especially since you work at KTP? Since we aren't hearing this at LAP. OH and BTW there will be changes made but NO MOA!!!!!! some work rules will have to change since there will be no trim and chassis area. Just assembly and Final.

At KTP Scott Eskrigde puts out the minutes of the Union Meeting. According to this Steve Stone reported to the membership that the company requires a ratified local agreement prior to an official product announcement. I may be at KTP now but I spent 15 years at LAP prior to the move across town. I hope LAP does not get an MOA but IMO thats one thing the company will push for.

I believe Ford will be using some of the stimulus loans available to retool lap so it wont be so easy to from them to just walk away.

I just read the Chairmans Update 10/17/10 posted on this website and it said the following:
What was said at the last Union Meeting was that VP Jim Tetrault mentioned at the National Ford Council Meeting, a product announcement in relation to our local Agreement.
IMO Sounds like an official product announcement after a ratified contract. What happens at the negotiating table is anyones guess or opinion at this point.
CAM never said I was at the Union Meeting got my info from Scotts handout like I mentioned

I dont Know who posted this over at Blue oval news But it's pretty much the same conversation I had with Steve out on the Line.
"Rumors that we will not get a product if we don't open the contract or that we were negotiating a MOA(team concept) are false . What was said at the last Union Meeting was that VP Jim Tetrault mentioned at the National Ford Council Meeting, a product announcement in relation to our local Agreement. Our tear out and retool is on track. Also, mentioned was that Michigan Assembly Plant has a tentative agreement and we will look at it when it is ratified. I have spoken to their Chairperson and BC several times about their C car contract and we may need to adjust our because of the changing in the our new plant. A Final Area may replace Trim and Chassis Dept. and OT and classification agreement need to be adjusted along with repair jobs in the Pre-Delivery. With no Frame area, the Final area will change. The vehicles will be transported by Skillet and Clamshells changing classifications. Leader jobs with 15 to 1 ratios will be lowered. The new GFCPA jobs must be regrouped plus other new work coming to the plant such "Behr" operators along with new sealer techs job must be classified. BUT we will NOT open the entire agreement or negotiate a MOA, we will just fix and adjust what is necessary for the new C Car product under the LAP Contract!"

This is the same BS we hear a KCAP. You can't belive anything untill it actually happens. It wouldn't suprise me if Ford intentionally floated that rumor to the FreePress and Blue Oval. We are told something new every couple weeks....Just about a month ago the rumor was KCAP was getting the CMax. Just last week we were told that in Dec of 2011 they will shut down the SUV system for 12 months for the retooling and fire up the 2nd shift on truck side. All this and they can't tell us what product, if any, we will be building on the SUV side.
