Union Meeting Notice: Union Meeting at LAP Hall Nov. 9, at 12pm and 6pm. Please
make every attempt to attend at least one meeting.
Tentative Friday’s: Overtime Friday’s are 10hrs, Nov. 5, 12.
UAW Community Services: Winter Coat Drive: Once again the UAW Community Service
Committees of LAP & KTP will have their Winter Coat Drive for 2010, starting
Nov.1 to Nov 30th, 2010. Please drop off your gently used, clean coats in the
marked bins at LAP. The bins are located at (3) three exit doors on A - Aisle, 1
box in the paint cafeteria and you can drop off coats at the LAP union hall
lobby area. The coats and items will be donated to Wayside. Thank you for your

UAW Christmas Bowling Tournament: 26th Annual UAW Christmas Bowling Tournament,
Team event Monday Dec.27 and Singles/Doubles Tuesday Dec. 28. Location will be
Kingpin Lanes in J-Town. Start time for both days is 9:30am SHARP. Fee is 21.00
per event, per person and only the first 50 teams will be accepted. Please
submit entry forms and checks to Local 862 financial secretary.
Shots at Hall: TODAY after work. Splendid Skin will be giving B12 shots and
Lipovite shots weekly for only 13.00 dollars each 20.00 for both. Shots will be
available at the Fern Valley Union Hall today from 1:30pm to 5:30pm. Any
questions about the shots please call Charlene at 339-9931.
Bid Update: Remember to prioritize your bids if you bid on multiple jobs.
You can do so by reading over the job description, going back out and selected
the appropriate priority number you want, going back to the bid, signup for job,
accept and you done. If, you signup for a job and have not selected the priority
number till after you signup, then you will be stuck with the default number 20.
You must remove your bid and select a priority number first, and then re-bid.
Anyone needing assistance can come to the union office, F-19 or anyone from the
committee will be glad to help.
Social Security Office: If anyone needs to get a social security card for the
I9 audit here is some info. The Office is located at 601 W. Broadway, Rm 101.
They will be open Nov.2 and 15, both holidays for UAW. You can call at
1-866-716-9671.
Louisville Football: We now have tickets for the football game on Saturday,
November 13 at 12:00. Great seats, they are in section 201, for just 10.00.
Ralph will be in the cafe during first break Friday, Monday, Tuesday and
Wednesday. Please don't wait until last minute, when U of L calls me wanting
tickets back return them immediately. If you are unable to come at break time
please leave me a message at 3674.
Unemployment Info:
Being a Long Term lay-off the State must handle all UI claims and we must
follow their guidelines that are set by the State of KY to qualify for the
benefits.
You can open your claim by internet, phone or visiting any UI office in State.
Full time students must go to the downtown office and fill out a Training
Approval Form for exemption.
Must apply for a minimum of 1 job per week, or how many are specified at the
review or on UI check stub.
First review is at 6 weeks, Second is at 12 weeks, and then every 12 weeks
after that without any issues.
You are notified on your UI check stub of your review dates, usually Wed,
Thursday or Fri of your second week.
Online Applications for jobs are ok.
All out of state employees (Ohio, Geogia, Florida, etc.) If you are going to be
out of state during the layoff period, you can have your claim transferred to
interstate status and avoid having to come back to Louisville for your reviews.

If you are going to be out of state during layoff, you can apply anywhere for
jobs outside of Kentucky also.
Please open your claim on the first Monday you are laid-off. Most will be

Flu Shots Available: Flu shots will be given FREE for all Ford employees on
11/16 & 17/ 2010. Location will be in the Special Events room in main cafeteria.
Times: 6:00am - 10:00 and 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Both days
