Hello, I would like to bring your attention on a new post published on the
UAWLAP.org Site.
Details of the post follow.

Weekly Update November 12, 2010
Order Bank: Explorer Total 10,681 Explorer end of build is Dec. 16, 2010!!!
UAW Holiday: The UAW would like to thank all our Veterans for their
service and commitment. We will recognize our Veterans holiday Monday
Nov.15, 2010. Remember Friday and Tuesday are qualifying days to be
eligible to receive your holiday pay for Monday.
UAW Christmas Bowling Tournament: 26th Annual UAW Christmas Bowling
Tournament, Team event Monday Dec.27 and Singles/Doubles Tuesday Dec. 28.
Location will be Kingpin Lanes in J-Town. Start time for both days is 9:30am
SHARP.. Fee is $ 21 per event, per person and only the first 50 teams will
be accepted. Please submit entry forms and checks to Local 862 financial
secretary.
Shots at Hall: TODAY after work. Splendid Skin will be giving B12 shots
and Lipovite shots for only $ 13 dollars each or $ 20 for both. Shots will
be available at the Fern Valley Union Hall from 1:00pm to 5:30pm. Any
questions about the shots please call Charlene at 339-9931. This will be
the last Friday for shots, Splendid Skin has agreed to continue the
service, except they will now come on Tuesdays from 11-16 thru 12-14.
Bids: We just finished one of our biggest rounds of bids yet. This week
will also be very large. Since there is a large number of bidders and we
are letting individuals have preferences on which jobs they want
1,2,3,4,etc. it is taking longer to follow the chain of bids. We hope to
have the acceptance letters complete Mon. If anyone notices anything
possibly wrong, let your committeeperson know immediately so we can
correct.
Acceptance Letters: To view acceptance letters you must open the bid list
and use the link at the top for acceptance letters.
Bid Outs: If we have anyone bid out of a classification that has been up
for bid already , we will pull another bidder from that list and follow the
bidding chain again. So even though you have been accepted on bid, you
could still get your higher preference job while the bidding is still going
on if someone bids out on that classification.
Recall Rights: Anyone that has recall rights to a previous classification
should have signed a slip stating their desire to go back, or stay and pick
which shift they would like to go to if there is an opening. If you have
not, then please let your committeeperson know, no later than Friday, so we
can come out to see you. Thanks
Louisville Football: We will have UL vs. West Virginia football tickets. UL’s
last home game Nov. 20, and tickets are $ 15 each, while supplies last.
Ralph will be in the cafe during first break Friday , Tuesday and
Wednesday. Please don't wait until last minute , when U of L calls wanting
tickets returned, I have to return them immediately. If you are unable to
come at break time please leave me a message at 3674.
Adopt-A-Child: We will be having an Adopt-A-Child program this year. We
have received very little money, so if you have not given yet, please give
the money to an union official or Quality Leader to get to the ERC
committee. Deadline for money will be Nov. 16. Thanks to all who have
already given. Details on actual date of event will be handed out.
