Hello, I would like to bring your attention on a new post published on the
UAWLAP.org Site.
Details of the post follow.

LAP Chairperson Update 11/15/2010
Although there is only less than one month until the end of the LAP built
Explorer, a lot is still going on at the Louisville Assembly Plant. While
preparations for the tear out and retooling for the new product are in full
gear, bids needed for the launch are proceeding with few problems. I have been
through a number of launch or shift addition bids, (i.e. Ranger, Explorer), and
so far these are gone well. The problems are being resolved as quickly as
possible whereas not to effect other bid. We will bid the remaining jobs after
the RTBU's return home.
While we are down for tear out and retooling, stay inform on the latest
developments in the plant by attending our monthly union meetings. Between the
meetings, I will be posting updates on UAWLAP.org and sending out emails for
registered users of the site. As part of the site, there are 'Contact
Chairperson', 'Contact Benefits Rep' and 'Report Unemployment Issues' buttons
to help the members as quickly as possible. Recently, the site has added SMS
Text Message service for immediate alerts. If you having problems signing up for
UAWLAP.org or with the site's email, contact me at sstone10@ford.com.
In addition, the National Ford Department has notified me that the LAP Benefit
Representative will be working during our downtime to continue to help the
members and retirees with Subpay, bills, eligibility and other benefit problems
that develop.
On November 14, 2010, I received the Umpire Docket Notice on the UAW Local
862/Louisville Assembly Plant Equality and Equity of Sacrifice policy grievance,
which was submitted to the Umpire in September. As soon as I hear any news on
the grievance or the proceedings, I will let you know.
We are having our Adopt-A-Child program this year and are collecting as much as
we can to accommodate as many children as possible this year. The Local Union
has also donated $ 2100.00 dollars. Thanks to all who have already given,
especially considering future downtime for retooling of the plant. So, if you
have not given yet, please, give contribute at the union office or union hall
and we will get your donations to the Adopt-A-Child committee. The details on
the Adopt-A-Child program will be out shortly.
Once again the UAW Community Service Committees of LAP & KTP will have their
Winter Coat Drive for 2010, starting Nov.1 to Nov 30th, 2010. Please drop off
your gently used, clean coats in the marked bins at LAP. The bins are located at
(3) three exit doors on A – Aisle, 1 box in the paint cafeteria and you can
drop off coats at the LAP union hall lobby area. The coats and items will be
donated to Wayside Mission.
On 11/16 & 11/17/2010, Flu shots will be available and given FREE for all Ford
employees. The shot will be given in the Special Events room in main cafeteria
from 6:00 am – 10:00 and 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm on both days. You will need a
driver's license and Ford ID.
The 26th Annual UAW Local 862 Christmas Bowling Tournament will be held at
Kingpin Lanes in J-Town December 27th and 28th. The Team event is on Monday
Dec.27th and the Singles/Doubles is on Tuesday Dec. 28th. Start time for both
days is 9:30am sharp. Fee is $ 21 per event, per person and only the first 50
teams will be accepted.
