Announcement: The Company will be making an announcement on Dec. 9 at the
Plant. Several Ford Executives, UAW International Reps and Government
Officials will be present. Exact details, times and attendees will be made
early next week.
Union Meeting: Union meeting will be at KTP union Hall on Dec. 14, 12pm
and 6pm. Please make every effort to attend one session. There will be
several by-laws changes proposed to be voted on.
If anyone would like a
Built Without Your Tax Dollars Bumper Sticker, please pick it up during
this time.
Cell Phone Usage: If you did not know, the cell phone policy has changed
for inside the plant. Please see your supervisor for a copy of the new
policy and its correct usage while in the work place.
Pay Records/Stubs: There has been several glitches in the payroll system
the past several weeks. Please make sure you are checking your DROTS and/or
pay stubs on line to verify that you have been paid correctly. The company
has shorted several people the last few weeks.
UAW Christmas Bowling Tournament: 26th Annual UAW Christmas Bowling
Tournament, Team event Monday Dec.27 and Singles/Doubles Tuesday Dec. 28.
Location will be Kingpin Lanes in J-Town. Start time for both days is
9:30am SHARP. Fee is $ 21 per event, per person and only the first 50 teams
will be accepted. Please submit entry forms and checks to Local 862
financial secretary.
Bids: Last round of bids are going up next week. We have a few jobs and
local appointments that need to be addressed and finalized with the company
next week. The final and correct Acceptance Letters will be hung up and
passed out for your verifications on the week of the 13th. If you see any
discrepancies please notify your committeeman or union officials ASAP.
Bid Outs: If we have anyone bid out of a classification that has been up
for bid already, we will pull another bidder from that list and follow the
bidding chain again. So even though you have been accepted on bid, you
could still get your higher preference job while the bidding is still going
on if someone bids out on that classification, on that shift.
Adopt-A-Child: The Adopt-A-Child Christmas Party will be at the LAP Union
Hall Dec. 17, at 9am.
Update Personal Information: Please make sure you have verified your
personal information in Labor Relations before we go down. The number on
file will be the number they call to bring you back to work and UI stopped
upon your return date. Info must be correct, this is your responsibility.
Dependent Enrollment: The Health Care initiative enrollment for your
dependent children up to age 26 is open from Nov. 11 thru Dec. 15. Please
visit www.myfordbenefits.com . Specific question please call Jim Fisher at
969-3286. If your child’s job offers healthcare coverage, no matter what
the cost, they do not qualify to adding them to your Ford plan.
Valentine Day Dance: Saturday Feb.12, doors open at 8pm, starts at 9pm
and lasts to 1am, LAP Union Hall, $ 20 per person in advance or $ 25 at the
door. Contact Recreation Chairman Dennis Newton at 254-0737.
Shots at Hall: Shots are still available at the Fern Valley Union Hall
from 1:00pm to 5:30pm. Any questions about the shots please call Charlene
at 339-9931. Splendid Skin has agreed to continue the service, except they
will now come on Tuesdays from 11-16 thru 12-14.
Unemployment Info: We have received word back from the Unemployment
Office and have been denied our appeal to not have to look for a job while
we are temporarily laid off. So we will have to apply for at least one job
per week while we are laid off.
Equity of Sacrifice Grievance: Our grievance on behalf of what we gave up
in the modifications has finally been given a docket number. Umpire Case #52377
Additional Taxable Income – Group Life: Insurance Over $ 50,000. Federal law
requires that the Company report to the Internal Revenue Service, under
section 79, the "imputed income" of certain Company-paid benefits,
including Group life Insurance that exceed $ 50,000. Imputed income
represents the value of "in kind" compensation not actually received as
wages but having value to the member.
