I'm wondering if FORD is going to hire back all those who took the buy-out...

Don't see that happening...why would someone come back for half the wages?

I thought when you took the buy out you couldn't come back.

Wasn't there some kind of preference for rehire included with the education buyout? No way I'd come back for half-wages and less bennies though.

Some of the people that I have talked to, who have taken the buyouts are still looking for better paying jobs than what they have now. I'm willing to bet more then half come back since they will make full pay within a few years. That $100,000 was a poison apple for alot of people.

The new hires or two tier employees max out at something like $15. However, after so many (a percentage of two tier employees to full time employees) that the two tier employees will then start to get pay raises to what we are making. This is not per plant wide percentage, but a Ford wide employees.

They start at $14.20/hr and top out at $15.34/hr. 20% two-tier.

20% is the max...when the lower wage earners reach 21%...the top 1% will earn our wages...but I expect this will be changed in future contracts. They will ask for 22%, then 24%, then 26%...and so on...

Wow....this is about the company buying union votes, thats it......if in the future the company ask us for a top tier pay cut to vote on with a $2000 bonus if it passes....what do you think the lower tier is going to vote for......"$2000"...they have nothing to lose.....20% is alot of votes.......well, maybe its just me being paranoid!

It's not paranoid. That is exactly what will happen. This is going to create have, have not classes. The have not's will vote against the have's everytime. Because we don't deserve to be paid that much.

LAP will know soon enough how the atmosphere will be when a $30/hour worker is working across from a $15/hour worker. I would guess they would do what they can to separate the two workers so the worker making less is not reminded of it daily. I would guess the low wage workers will all be in trim...I hope.

At KCAP we have over 50 temps...basicly the same thing. What Ford likes to do (with the unions blessing) is put them where ever they want. There are temps on A and B shift. They have them in paint and body. Now the company says that they have no actual seinority therefore we can NOT bump them. We have people with over 14 years on C shift who got bumped there yet there are temps on A and B. Basicly, this is fords first step in creating animosity between the workers.

I'm wondering if FORD is going to hire back all those who took the buy-out... There is a guy here at KCAP who took the education buy out on the first round. He now has his MBA and is in supervision. I seriously doubt they would hire anyone back to the line. But, ya never know.....Ford can do pretty much anything they want.
