Well back from ILO to the chicago stamping after a year and a half dec 1 comes and on my check I only have 50 hrs of vacation for shutdown and 20 hrs of personal time and i have over 10 years. Asked and the reason is if you work less than 32 weeks in a year you only get half of your vacation time. Some more of that small print in the union contract I guess. So for one year I only get 2 personal days and I am working in chicago while my family is in Louisville. Hope this doesnt effect you guys in louisville waiting on the Escape.

and as for going to Chicago they didnt make u!!!! no, they didnt make him. also, they told him he was not going to be laid off WHILE they were convincing him to give up his benefits that he would receive if he was laid off. fact is, its a bad loophole that bit those with december eligibility in the butt. in would love it if locals 862 and 551 could come together and negotiate a few extra paid days off for those that are out of town with so little time to use.

Will unemployment and sub-pay cover the rest during shut down?

well dude if you are expecting something and then it is not there it sucks and if you have a family you dont get to see very much it kind of sucks more and if you have plans and suddenly you dont have the time off work to keep those plans it sucks. As for complaining I wasnt I was just informing others about something that can affect their vac. time if they are off work to long. Since the union failed to info us of that. It was a surprise.YOu Dooch I am sure the company has plenty more surprises coming so I dont want to hear you complain.

I'm ready to get back to work, but I'll have to admit I've enjoyed everyday being off work and getting "free money" for it. We knew this was coming way in advance. I prepared my family financially for it. We paid off the cars and refinanced the house to a better interest rate and payment. I know when I return I won't the normal vacation hours and personal time, but the "free money", i.e. unemployment and sub-pay will take care of that. I think I figure I would lose around $150 in a normal pay week, but I can live with that. I know everybody's financial situation is different. You might not get to go to Stooge's once or twice or you might have do with out a few cases of beer or a few cartons of cigarettes. Oh, I know it will be hard, though, you might have to give up your pot or meth a week or so. I'm very, very, very happy I'm getting "free money" from the state!! I love "free money"!!

nothing is free what you get free today you will pay for in the future. Taxes will go up not right now but it wont be long until we will all be paying for all the free money that has been handed over the last 10 years and I took my share of it too.
