I worked with Gerald in trim. He hired in in late 94 early 95. He was a really young then maybe 23 or so. Crazy as hell, but in a fun way. Good at heart. He hated to come to work. AWOLD all the time. He went to labor so much I think he had a desk up there. I think when they offered the buy outs he was the first one that took it, and he probaby had to phone in to tell them he'd take it. Gerald has a son who is 10 or 11 now Gavin, and thats the saddest part. So if you happen to stop by the funeral home say hi to his son. I'm sure he'll need all the support he can get. I woke up this morning , and heard about Geralds death, and thought to myself, I'm so glad he took the buyout. I would have hated to think his last few years on this earth could have been wasted doing somthing he hated to do. I would hate that for anyone...

I worked with Gerald in trim also, he was really nice to me when I hired in and that stuck with me...I remember that he loved JEEPs but more than anything, his son. Such a shame for everyone involved, My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

Regardless of how angry I get at "FORD" for some of the decisions they make I still consider myself lucky to have a job like this that pays this good...I will drive a ford vehicle til the day I die...My point was he died driving something other than a ford vehicle...Does that taste better?

The paper stated "alcohol seemed to cause the accident"...this should be a reminder how dangerous it is to drink and drive.

Tonyp, my taste buds have burned out years ago. So, it all taste the same. Think about if his family or son read that post. How pissed do you think they would be. I would say after that they would never buy or drive a FORD again. It's America we still as of now have the right of freedom of speech but, it's slowly being taken away. My personal view is I hate to see any loss of life. Old age is one we can't avoid. My prayers are with his family and son. I never met the man but, he was still an extended member of the Ford working (blue Collar) family.
