Inaction can be as bad as the wrong action. They seen it coming and the typical republican belief says to let it go... the market will fix itself.
They are partly right from their point of view. The middle class has taken a major beating, the rich have outpaced everyone else in income and to top it all off with 10% unemployment, corporations have a huge surplus of bodies to fight for jobs to lower wages. So from their point of view the market has "fixed" itself. Corporate profits increasing, wages being lowered…
They were in control during the time when the worst of it could have been avoided. Republicans are not 100% responsible for the financial crises, but their ideology sure as hell added fuel to the fire.

Explain why it is acceptable to subsidize an industry that hires a tiny fraction of Americans yet is one of the most profitable in the world; while it is such a terrible thing to subsidize the usps that hires millions of Americans.
I don’t recall any of you complaining about subsidizing big business that don’t need it. To me this is an example of how special interest groups can influence public opinion. In this case, giving big business our tax dollars and putting Americans on the street, is not just acceptable, it is the “right” thing to do.
