hey Kess, would it be possible if you or any of the bargaining committee to just try a couple of jobs that are expected of us to do everyday, so you can realize what is happening out there on the floor. This union is so out of touch with whats happening its pittiful. Jobs that 4 years ago had a full workload now all of a sudden have plenty of time to take on more. if the regular operator cant hold it they will bring a ringer in off night shift to hold it then move him on to the next job. never see any of you guys out there.

so lets the ringer stay on that job.if they put you on it bury it.Tired off everyone wanting the union to fight the job for them.fight it yourselves,WE are the union.the union cannot help until you bury the job so bad that either he takes the work off or he tries R&W you and this is when the union steps in.if the union fucks you after that the you have a bitch....please fight these jobs, dont be affraid of R&W ( they really dont hurt as bad as they say)

rkr, trying a job would just be good politics but it would do nothing. We go by modapts if i thought a job was too heavy or not would not change the job if the modapts were good. The union doesn't have the ability to just say "this jobs good and that jobs bad so change it". Modapts is the only way to do it.
The current problem is cycle times, we gotta start getting them fixed. Also don't let your supervisor tell you the study is good or show you one he claims is good. Have a standards rep or committeeperson verify it.
And as for BC and plant managers trying jobs you have heard of in the past. Don't buy into it. They have their standards reps tell them what jobs they have to fix, they go out there try that job for 5 minutes. Grandstand about "this job is gonna change" when that was already being done. They look good, everyone talks about it for years. I would rather spend my time actualy working on your behalf. Any job in trim is gonna seem like the end of the world for someone that hasn't done it in a long time.

to buckeyeinky, 1st off i'm an extra on a team so its not my so called job to make it work or not. but when you see them try 3 or 4 different people and no one holds it then they bring a guy in just to hold it and it takes him 6 days to do it, then they say o.k. this job is doable. then puts the regular operater on and sends the ringer to another team to do the same thing to me just doesnt seem right. there was a time when everyone in the union would be standing at that job demanding a change. and not just the same response, well it works on paper. and buckeyeinky, it shouldnt be a union brother or sister fighting anything in that plant alone, that is why its called a UNION! I appreciate eveything Kess and the rest of them go through I just think is strength in numbers.

your right rkr,its not your job,it the oper. job to fight 4 whats right.but they have to fight, as 4 the ringer again if sup say its doable then tell him to get the suckass ringer back here on his new job that he can hold.I myself am usually on an island when it come to fighting for what right and thats fine, my job is good and the union never needed to intervene.no one sticks together anymore, and i hate it,but that is the way it is.dont be mad at me rkr i feel for you.

Couldn't you make them rotate the job and then it wouldn't just be on you? Rotate the job, then if no one on the team can hold it, I would say you could get something done.
