Dear god, It's me, WPLAP...again. I know, I know...I'm a fuck up...what can you do? But I have a deal for you, god: If you can make it so...that the KENTUCKY TRUCK PLANT @ 3001 Chamberlain Ln. Louisville, KY can no longer build Expeditions or Navigators until late July, I will do these things in your honor: Build a golden calf...destroy it. Type the word god with an upper case G....just for you, babe! Kill Sodomites with extreme prejudice. Watch sermons all day long on BET on Sundays. Have sex with a virgin...gently of course. And I will never drink booze again, GOD! I promise [ ]

This is what they did with us today.......(2nd shif 7 to 3). I work in U-Subs...... We filled what empty racks we had then some of us were loaned to Closure line so they could loan the lowest seniority to P-Trim. Being that they Are running nothing but P'ssome of the jobs are loaded down. Iam guessing that's What's going to happen tomorrow too. Hope iam wrong though.

Think about it. The people from u-trim are being paid either way because of short work week. They double up jobs in p-trim and speed up production avoiding short work week payments. If there are extra people, "flip" lists will be used to avoid short work week payments. It does make sense. Increased production keeps the loss down for Ford and keeps people working. Extras volunteer to leave without pay.(Or utilize their personal time - different kitty)
However, if they cannot get it fixed over the weekend, it may be in Ford's best interest to lay off next week. It is all about the bean counter's numbers and profit margins. No short work week will be paid next week in that scenario, just sub.
I feel they can find a band aid to get through a week of production. I would not expect a robocall just yet.

The magnitude of this break down requires more than a simple band-aid.

Slow down guys. There is no line speed increase in P trim. Need double ups so we can Tag. We cannot keep up with chasis running all P's. Also to cover our medicals and shortages.
I heard U trim got to either work or take a flip out, NO short work week was allowed.

Extras volunteer to leave without pay.(Or utilize their personal time - different kitty) people in utrim were told they could stay home tonight if they wanted to, with no pay, but they must come in friday. it seems to me they should force the lowest people they think they need to work and short work week the rest, but no. it also seems to me that a lot of them will probably end up on clean up. they have contracted that work out,we all know, so that you cant get that job when youre an old man, but they can damn sure make you do it when it suits them. that sux too. ive got a money saving idea, lets turn off the ac in the union office!!

I'm just wondering. With the tag relief in p-trim the next two days and if body and paint have trouble keeping up with trim on mass relief, how in the world are they going to keep up with us on thursday and friday?
Just wondering, any comments?

Body and paint can't keep up because of the suv's. If you guys run 20hrs a day and body and paint run 24hrs a day with no suv's shouldn't be a problem.

I have discovered my answer. It is called controlled stops. We are in the second one of the day so far, and this one is longer then the last. About ten minutes at this point. Cool bring it on.
