You mean "sellout", not "buyout", right?

I was wondering that also....are those buyout options still available to us?
I really don't see the UNION doing whats best for it's members during these contract talks and our working conditions are getting worse. Management seems to have the union in it's pocket and I don't see it getting better in the future.

Starting to sound pretty fucking good whatever the hell you want to call it! I think I'd call it "Let me out, I've had enough!"

I see them being offered again...but I don't see the full retirement 'early out' being offered. The last thing they want is paying you to sit at home. They would prefer to cut all ties and replace you with a legacy-free new hire...but I believe most that wanted to leave have already left. If they brought the 100k buyout back, how many do you really see taking it this time? 1-200 company wide if they're lucky. Most everyone has over 10 yrs seniority now.

I definitely wouldn't call it "sellout" because it's not like I am not loyal to this shit-ass employer. Hell, if the ghetto Speedway paid the same wage and had the same benefits I'd go dodge bullets every night.

I think theres more people ready to leave than you think, even if they get one person they can hire two for that persons wages, and be younger and not used to being fucked all the time!

It only makes sense for the company to offer it every contract...why not replace a $28 hr guy with a $14 hr guy with little benenfits and no retirement? I think they offer them every contract year until they get the percentage of $14 workers they want....just my 2 cents.

Well, for all those ready to leave, all I can say is...I hope you get the buyout you want and good luck. There have been a few success stories but most that left regret it today. Many have hopes of coming back for half the money...now that's sad.

Management seems to have the union in it's pocket and I don't see it getting better in the future. Hopefully you get a good rep sometime around to help, some good ones were voted in. As for the union doing whats best for us on this contract, if its not what we want/need, then NO VOTE. So many people dont go and vote its really sad.

everyone talks about the $14 hr people...only 20% company wide can be at the two tier pay scale from what i understand.

Yeah, but you are talking in the neighborhood of 8200 people...do you see anyone needing 8200 or 8200 people signing up to leave?
