Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The order bank for the week of 8/29/11 is the following: Super Duty – (33,795), Expedition – (6,541),
Navigator – (1,291), Total Order Bank – (41,627)
The tentative schedule for week of 9/5/11 is approximately a 9.0 to 9.1 schedule.
I want to thank the membership for turning out for the strike vote. All who voted sent a loud message to
Ford Motor Company that we are united as one during this current round of contract negotiations.
As you are aware we recently had 23 transfers from various plants throughout the system. Please
welcome our new members and help them in anyway that you can. It is one of the most stressful times of
your life to move far from your home and start in a new plant. On September 12, 2011 we will receive
another group of the approximately 75 that are due to come. The RTBUs for LAP will be slightly delayed
with the approximately 300 BID jobs that recently went up for LAP. We will relay any information as we
get it.
There are now two Saturdays (9/10/11 and 9/24/11) that the company has scheduled as production
work days. The official notice concerning the production Saturdays will be out Friday (9/2/11). Joe
Bobnar put out a letter yesterday acknowledging these dates. We come to an agreement with the
Company that the process will be that the official notice will go out on the Friday preceding the week of
the mandatory Saturday. Although Joe's letter informed the plant of the plan to work, Labor Relations
will put out the official notice and this will allow an equal opportunity for the membership to put in for
the day off with no advantage other than your seniority and also give you a little stability for this process.
A huge achievement for the plant! Our quality data for the Super Duty came in with great news
recording the best warranty data on the Super Duty ever. At 0 MIS (Month in Service) it came in at
5.9R/1000; 1MIS came in at 24R/1000 compared to last year at this time at 46.9R/1000 and 3MIS came in
at 81R/1000. Thank you very much for your incredible work!
The UAW Local 862 Bass Tournament is scheduled for Sunday (10/9/11) at the State Dock of Nolin Lake.
Entry forms with all tournament rules, regulations, and awards are available in the in-plant union office.
The September union meeting's date has changed and is now scheduled for Tuesday (9/20/11) at the
KTP Hall on Chamberlain Lane.
PMHV's and Pedestrians - As you are traveling though the plant please keep PMHVs in your sight and
stay in your pedestrian aisle ways. If you are operating a PMHV please take notice to the stop signs.
Thank you for watching out for each other and continue to work safe.
I hope you all enjoy your long weekend with your UAW Negotiated holiday off. Remember to be safe
and enjoy your time with your families!
In Solidarity,
Rodney Janes
