It would be nice if there was a central list of trades jobs currently on the roles with staffing numbers and a seniority date by plant location. No personal data needed, just the head count numbers and the seniority year. This would give any tradesman a good snap shot of what jobs are currently filled and how many in each plant of each trade. The seniority year is also helpful to see who is eligible to retire. This is assuming Ford would be willing to back fill 1:1 which I have a feeling is NOT going to happen.
If anyone has access to the data it would be an easy Excel project. (I'm game if I had the data to work with)
Something like this should be hosted on the UAW site.

yes but that would stop the many shenanigans of the IUAW haha My thinking exactly.... I asked my committeeman for a list of in zone headcount of people working in my trade. He gave me 5 names from another local plant which two of the names were wrong (by many years). That alone makes you question the accuracy of the information. Yea, you got a list but you have no idea who compiled it, how old it is or if its even accurate. Its hard to make an informed decision when your not informed. With technology at the level it is today and the amount we all pay in union dues accurate and timely information it not too much to ask for. If the info was centrally hosted for all to look at it would keep a lot of people honest.

I've been trying for weeks to get a list of trades going to production. Would like to know if I have a shot at getting back to my trade when they add a 3rd shift. looks like we may just have to wait till we are settled into our new plant.

I think some of the individual plants do not want to give up that information. The union at LAP probably does not want to put out a list of people who are not even LAP employees yet. I guess we will just have to be patient.

Since all of us pay dues there is a minimum level of information that should be available (to everyone) especially for people considering a transfer to a new or unknown location. As I said before that info should be hosted on the UAW's web site so anyone in a certain job category or trade can look at a plant in question and see if they have that trade or job group there. I am sure they already have that info, its getting is visible.

However, I have no faith that the IUAW will ever make this information available to us. I do not remember if it was in 2003 or 2007 but the IUAW told us back then that they were going to set it up so we could all have access to this information. I did not believe it back then. Until we can directly vote for our international reps to hold them accountable things are only going to get worse. In 2015 (if they do not reopen the 2011 agreement) They will either want to take our retirement for a cash buyout of pennies on the dollar or tell the 1st tier employees they need to take a large pay cut after not getting a raise since 2003. I wish I could have more faith in the IUAW! I remember being very proud to be a uaw member at one time.

Well a complete seniority list appeared in the plant (for the Brookpark plant location). It came from a friend of a friend working at that plant. Too bad someone inside the union could not make that happen. Now anyone that wants to see what trades are there and their seniority is visible which it should be for ALL facilities. A funny side note when I asked our trades rep for that info he obtained a list (Excel file) that I could only view on his computer (nothing printed allowed). The complete list floating around he found out about it and wanted a copy of it. I know he got a copy but I would have been reluctant to let him / them copy mine.
I would let him LOOK at it though.....
