Got a call from my skilled trades rep. last night. Postings for 10 Millwright's & 5 Welder's is what I was told. Posting should be up today.

They are telling us only trades that have ILO status or are surplus.
Saw the posting for welders last night. It is for 4 not 5.

These postings should have been offered to the system through seniority and jobs should have been backfilled by the laid off,
What is a surplus employee. the contractual definition?

There are trades at closing plants that should be able to bid on these jobs.

They will be getting a chance. Only 5 MW's & 0 welders signed from what i was told.

Just posted for ITR mechanic in our plant to Chicago They are posting for skilled trades to go to Chicago at TCAP. I have not seen the posting yet but I know they are looking for millwrights and welders. I heard they also need pipefitters and toolmakers. We have to sign up by 4:30 Tuesday.

Because they did not get there numbers for welders. Does any one know if and when they will force to Chicago. And what zones etc... will they will start with ?
