this is going to be the beginning of the end. Look for something of this nature in our next contract talks with the big three. We need to act now to stop this crap before it hits us. Call me a worry wart but I don't trust either the UAW leader's or the Company on this issue.

"• Eliminate a 30-year-and-out pension plan
• Create a second-tier workforce for newly hired workers that mirrors the UAW agreement. • Adopt a defined contribution pension plan for current workers.
• Permanently end cost of living wage adjustments.
• Further reduce benefits, including access to prescriptions."
1) You still have a pension. 2) You still have 30 and out 3) You do not have a defined contribution pension plan(You have a pension) 4) You have perscription coverage
Trinitus is right. I really hate saying that.............;-)

If you are second tier......this will be what they use in 2015. They will give raises to 2-tier to cut the wage and retirement of the other 80%. Whipsawing at it's best.

The company will start taring things down a little at a time. They already started by getting us to agree to two pay tier's and by having us give up raise's and losing the COLA. That still leaves more things to take away. I hope like hell I am wrong on this but I don't think so, time for the membership to open their eyes and start to realize that Allen Mulally is NOT in our best interest.

We all think it...and so does Ford...more gloom and doom! People truly believe Ford wants the older people out with all the rumors of 25 and out...they don't understand the truth...Ford wants all of us to die as active employees...they don't want us to sit at home and draw a pension. Take away pension, people work until they die for the most part.

We know this battle is comming.People need to look beyond the signing bonus and fight. We need to educate new hires who think they are going to live the "Ford Dream".We are going to look back ten years from now, and wonder what the hell happened! After this last contract,i'm already starting to wonder.

Then everyone needs to prepare financially for 2015. Be prepared to strike. Maybe even be prepared to leave Ford to keep what pension you own before they take it away. If you are vested - the money you have in there is yours. You own it legally. If you leave Ford for another job, you can have a lawyer transfer it to your new account at the next employer. (Just like your TESPHE account) It will take a lawyer because of the union/ company relationship.

...they don't want us to sit at home and draw a pension. Take away pension, people work until they die for the most part. They have plenty of volunteers working WAY past 30 years. I am convinced that some people will die at work and have no intentions of ever retiring. I have seen it multiple times thus far.

I'll leave at thirty on the dot. Because lord knows, if I can't go at 30, I'll never be able to go. If I come in this bitch for $6.25 an hour like the 30+ guys are doing now, please, somebody, hit me in the head with a sledge hammer, right between the eyes
