Cal, you may want to edit your post you seem to have your parties mixed up. Republicans are the ones pushing for this to happen unless the rich are included in extending bushs tax cuts.
Imagine that, republicans willing to toss the average person under the bus so their biggest donors can keep the equivalent of pennies.
If our fearless leaders have half a brain they will let these slowly increase over a few years until they return to the clinton era rates.

Obama carried over who's tax cuts ? Tax cuts across the board for everyone that actually pays taxes I do not have a problem with. The door knob democrats like to say "tax cuts for the rich" but in the context of this discussion the tax cuts impact the little guy as well. Nice attempt to change the narrative but extending the Bush tax cuts for people that pay taxes, working or wealthy should happen. That is inversely offset by your fearless inept leader adding 5 trillion to the debt in one term. If Obama want a spot in history he has the biggest spender spot anchored well. www.forbes.com/sites/peterferrara/2012/06/14/president-obama-the-biggest-government-spender-in-world-history/
