I seen it asked on here before but I'll ask again since I need one. Just got an est. on my TV and I can buy a new one for what they want to repair it. Plus, they only offer a 30 day warranty on parts and labor. I might get this fixed and a month later the bulb goes out putting me out another 300 or 400. Any help would be appreciated.

I'll tell you who to use and who not to use. Don't use Kwik Electronic on Bardstown Road. They charged $40 for pick up and return(not bad since I have a 300+ pound TV). Then they charge $50 just to look at it. After telling them the problem over the phone they gave me an estimate of $300-$400, after they looked at it they told me it needed 3 different chips and it would cost $600. I told them I could buy a new TV for that. So I was out $90 for nothing.
DO USE PARK TV ON DIXIE HIGHWAY(Across the street from the government center) I took the TV there and they want a $10-$20 deposit. If they fix it the deposit goes toward the repair bill, if not they keep it for looking at it. They told me it only needed 2 chips and fixed it for $175. A little heads up if you have a Sony. Park TV said it's a common problem for chips to go out on them. They have tried using off-brand replacement chips but they just don't work, so they have to use a Sony replacement chip that makes the repair a little bit more.
