I believe it was all the way back in late August /September when the Union called a special skilled trades meeting to discuss AWS or an alternative. The alternative was discussed as a "hybrid" of our old D and E crews with 7am starts for the weekend crews. We were also told that there would be more meetings to discuss it BEFORE the final decision would be made to EXACTLY what shifts skilled trades would be going to.
The membership has not been told ANYTHING official and RUMORS are flying and we have NOT had any other meetings. Here is what I and a lot of the guys on the floor have heard.
The weekend crews will work 11-11 shifts (NOT the 7-7 we were told) The weekend crews will not be "the small weekend crews" as we all thought in fact... ALL the Tinners will be forced to it ALL the Carpenters will be forced to it More than 50% of the Toolmakers, Millwrights and Pipefitters will be forced to it
The shifts are EVERY WEEKEND! 11a-11p or 11p-11a and then you will have to work one day during the week and I'm guessing the lower seniority the worse day...Like Wednesday. Can you imagine that you're regular shift will be 11p-11a Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday EVERY WEEK?!
AGAIN THESE ARE ALL RUMORS...being our UNION leaders can not communicate with the skilled trades on the floor.
Looks like FORD would be a great place to start a UNION, one that could actually communicate with the membership!

Jamie Burke 502-797-2787 & Jeff Bailey 812-736-6647 are your Skilled Trades reps. Call one and ask them or Go to the Union office and ask them.

Paint fumes taking a toll? Believe this relates to KTP Trades as they are being ask now for shift preference, choices being pretty much what Gunny169 reported

Paint fumes always takes a toll, LOL. Didn't notice it was KTP Trades but wanted to put the reps numbers out there for them. Thanks!

Skilled Trades meeting on Wed...votes have to be in by Thursday. Membership decides which of the two shifts we go to.
Option #1-The alternate D/E with the 11a or 11p start with traditional staying in final
Option #2-Aws in paint, body and stamping and traditional in final and central
Option #2 much better in my opinion...vote in our hands now so hope everyone gets to the meeting.
