Hello, I would like to bring your attention on a new post published on the
UAWLAP.org Site.
Details of the post follow.

Informational picket on Indian Trail at the Faurecia Exhaust plan
From: George Palmer
To: Dunn, Todd (M.T.)
Subject: Faurecia Informational Picket
Last month, Local 862 members active and retired, volunteered their time and we
had a very successful informational picket on Indian Trail at the Faurecia
Exhaust plant. The following day, the plant manager put an anti-UAW letter out
to each employee as a result from our demonstration (see attachment). The
plant manager held a 30 minute meeting on each shift to bash the UAW and our
efforts we displayed.
The plant manager told the workers that he will protect them from the UAW and
they don't have to worry about the union coming to their plant again.
Due to the great participation from Local 862 members, workers from all 3 shifts
at Faurecia attended an "all-shifts meeting on that following Sunday. UAW
Region 8 officially kicked off the organizing drive and workers are now signing
authorization cards to join the UAW. The company has launched a full
anti-union campaign inside the plant and it's aggressive. We need to show the
workers that we support their efforts and want to encourage them to join the
UAW.
UAW Region 8 is asking that Local 862 members act once again. We are planning
another informational picket at the Faurecia Exhaust Plant.
When: Thursday, May 22nd
Where: Meet at LAP Union Hall on Fern Valley @ 1:30pm. (We will carpool for
those who prefer not to drive) The informational picket will start at 2:00pm
and will end at 3:15pm (4415 E. Indian Trail, Louisville, KY)
We will pass out leaflets and hold Union YES signs & UAW posters in front of the
plant.
If possible, we are asking that all participants wear a white t-shirt or top to
show solidarity to the workers.
As always, thanks for your continued support.
